This exceptional antique Edwardian 9ct rose gold cigarette case has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners. This antique case has a subtly curved form proffering a comfortable fit in the majority of pockets. The anterior cover is ornamented with an impressive enamel panel depicting four jockeys riding horses in a race, with stands full of spectators in the background. The enamel panel is further embellished with the caption 'Cambridgeshire 1902'. The posterior cover is embellished with contemporary engraved inscriptions in the form of a business card, denoting: the telegraphic address 'Shamefaced, London', the telephone details 'No 112 Avenue, 9890 Central', the name 'E Israel', the job position 'Turf Commission Agent', in addition to the address '16 Philpot Lane E.C.'. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique 1930s 0.20 carat diamond, platinum and Bakelite cheroot holder made by Cartier; an addition to our smoking related collection. This exceptional antique cheroot holder has a plain tapering cylindrical form. The body of this antique Cartier cheroot holder is embellished with a platinum band pavé set with thirty-four Dutch cut diamonds. The Bakelite body can be separated into two components, screw fit together. The holder terminates with a bulbous ovoid shaped mouthpiece. This exceptional holder is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with a velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch. The interior of the antique box bears the retailer's mark 'Cartier, Paris 13 Ruede La Paix, London 175 New Bond St, New York 653 5th Avenue'.
