Circa 1900 original poster by L. Vignères - Cycles Automobiles Gladiator Paris

Located in PARIS, FR

This impressive circa 1900 original poster by L. Vignères promotes the celebrated French manufacturer Gladiator, a company known at the turn of the 20th century for producing bicycles, motorcycles, and early automobiles. The poster reflects the optimism and technological enthusiasm of the Belle Époque, when personal mobility and mechanical innovation captured the public imagination. The striking central image shows a rider astride a rearing horse balanced atop a globe — a powerful allegory suggesting speed, strength, and global ambition. This symbolic imagery connects traditional horsepower with modern mechanical power, effectively positioning Gladiator as a leader in the transition from horse-drawn transport to motorized travel. Stylistically, the poster combines late 19th-century academic illustration with emerging advertising dynamism. The bold typography, dramatic composition, and vivid color contrasts make the image immediately eye-catching, typical of early commercial posters designed for urban display. Today, this poster stands as both a historical document of early automotive culture and a compelling example of Belle Époque advertising art, illustrating how industry, modernity, and artistic creativity converged at the dawn of the motor age. Show and Tell

By Pati Bannister

Located in San Francisco, CA

This artwork titled "Show and Tell" 1999, is a color off set lithograph by British/American artist Pati Bannister, 1929-2013. It is hand signed, titled and numbered 476/950 in pencil by the artist. Published by Masters Publishing INC, New York. The image size is 17.5 x 21 inches, sheet size is 23.25 x 26 inches. It is in excellent condition. About the artist: Pati Bannister was born in Highgate, England, overlooking London in 1929. Growing up, both of her parents were artists. Her mother painted watercolor landscapes, while her father painted portraits. To help further her natural talents, she took art lessons as a young girl and ultimately went to work for J. Arthur Rank, the movie maker, as an animator. At 22 years old, she came to the United States as a governess for a family in Connecticut. Later she became a flight attendant in Florida where she met her future husband, Glynn. Little did she know, he would become the strongest influence in her life as he inspired her to pursue and share her artistic abilities with the public. In 1958, Pati and Glynn moved to New Orleans and she started painting portraits in Jackson Square. Eventually, she opened two art galleries located in the French Quarter. In the late 1960's, they moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast...

San Remo Italy Vintage Travel Poster — ENIT by VincenzoAlicandri linen-backed

By Vincenzo Alicandri

Located in Spokane, WA

Discover the Allure of the Italian Riviera — San Remo Travel Poster (1928) Step onto a sun-drenched terrace overlooking one of Italy's most enchanting coastal destinations. This authentic vintage travel poster for San Remo captures the essence of 1920s Italian glamour, featuring a breathtaking panoramic view of the Ligurian coast bathed in Mediterranean light. A Masterpiece of Italian Poster Art Created by the celebrated artist Vincenzo Alicandri around 1928, this original stone lithograph was commissioned by ENIT (Ente Nazionale Italiano per il Turismo), Italy's prestigious national tourism board. The composition showcases the artistic mastery of the Belle Époque travel poster era, with vibrant botanical elements—blooming flowers and graceful palm trees—framing an expansive vista of San Remo's golden beaches and hillside villages. Museum-Quality Conservation & Authenticity This is an original vintage European travel poster—not a reproduction. Professionally conservation-mounted and linen-backed for archival preservation, this 1920s poster has been carefully maintained in excellent condition. The stone lithograph process creates rich, luminous color saturation that modern printing cannot replicate, making vintage travel posters highly sought after by collectors worldwide. Rare & Increasingly Difficult to Find Original vintage travel posters for Italy from the 1920s-1930s are now exceptionally scarce, particularly in excellent condition. This San Remo ENIT poster...
