In this series, the artist takes Inspiration from ancient Italian frescos originally found at the Villa di Livia outside of Rome. The frescos are from the subterranean room used for dining. The lush gardens gave the dinner guests the illusion of dining alfresco. This exploration of the past and its connection to the present is a central theme running through Pylant's work.
