Born in 1955, Hyderabad, India, painter and writer Sangeeta Reddy migrated to the United States in 1978 and continued her studies in art. Currently she maintains a studio on Santa Fe Dr. in Denver, Colorado and Hyderabad, India, dividing her time between the two. She has been represented by various galleries in Aspen, Denver, New York, New Delhi, Chennai and now, Hyderabad since the beginning of her 26 year career.
Sangeeta has lived and breathed the arts from a very young age – her maternal grandmother was a contemporary of the classical vocalist Kesarbai Kerkar, her grandfather a connoisseur of the arts. Steeped in music, her mother was one of the first disciples of the late Pandit Ravi Shankar. Her late father was a pictorial photographer who co-founded the Hyderabad Photographic Society. Sangeeta chose to follow her own path into the visual and literary arts.
With seven years of undergraduate work in fine art in India and the US, and a bachelor’s from Bombay University in English literature and Philosophy, in 1985, Sangeeta’s work has developed into a highly individual style of mixed media abstract expressionistic paintings and monotypes on both canvas and paper. The deconstructed calligraphy and vibrant and nuanced color ever present in her work gives the work the flavor of India in concert with a western restraint.
Known primarily for her mixed media collages on paper and canvas, her abstract work was conceived from a challenge to visually parallel Sankara’s idea of Brahman in Advait philosophy and has now evolved into a formal language of deconstructed Devanagari calligraphy. Her artistic influences range widely from Indian weaving and textiles to Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne and Pablo Picasso (who were introduced to her at a very young age by her father’s interest in Western art), to her discovery (while studying in the US) of the Taos School of landscape painters as well as the Abstract expressionist painters, painters, in particular, Mark Rothko and Willem De Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Antoni Tapies and Richard Diebenkorn.
After having worked for 28 years in an abstract expressionist manner, her latest series of paintings are based on the rock formations of the Colorado Plateau. She was first Inspired By Abstract Expressionists like Barnett Newman, Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Ray Parker, her style evolved into abstract expressionism and color field painting, Since moving to the US she has become familiar with some of the artistic giants – Georgia O’keeffe, Maynard Dixon, Ernest Blumenschein, Victor Higgins and John Marin, much later of the Group of Seven and of Regionalism. The mountains and plains, canyons and stretches of sky, pinion, sage and cottonwoods. Mostly they were in the form of small plein air works in pastel, charcoal or water color, or drawings from memory or photographs that were more reductive and expressionistic. She has also worked in monotype techniques and in collage.

About the Artist:
Eric Ernst (grandson of Max Ernst, son of Jimmy Ernst) was born in Norwalk, Connecticut in 1956 into a family of some notoriety in the art world. Originally intent on avoiding any direct involvement in the arts himself, he graduated from George Washington University with a B.A. in Japanese Studies followed by an all-but-completed M.A. in the same subject from the University of Michigan (to this day he insists the actual writing of the master’s thesis should just be considered a minor formality).
In between these academic respites, he lived in Japan working as an apprentice to a Japanese woodblock artist, studied Zen meditation, and was employed as a disc jockey...

Elizabeth Riley’s work addresses questions concerning the complex and changing world we inhabit and our “mixed reality,” living between physical and digital/virtual contexts – are we our everyday, familiar, material past, or our digital future, and is this apparent “mixed reality” of the moment to be embraced or resisted. Is the digital present the bells and whistles of an unchanged and familiar humanity or does it define us, and the future. This project is embodied in tabletop cityscapes, structural wall works and installations including video, inkjet-printed video stills, and found home furnishings.
Other continuing threads at play in my body of work are the struggle to overcome oppression as a woman – and a relationship with the urban environment and constructed space, as both personal and paradigmatic space. Exhibited in Excessive Frugalities, Digital Feet and Rocking Posture are three dimensional wall works made from multicolored video stills inkjet-printed on paper, and paint on the tough mylar-like material, duralar. These work combine illusionistic space with constructed elements in a multidimensional mashup of traditional and new mediums.
. A long time New Yorker, Elizabeth Riley graduated from Barnard College and received an MFA from Hunter College. In April 2017, the site-specific participatory installation, City Remix, appeared in the exhibition Reconstruct at LIU, in Brooklyn, and in June 2017 the 20 x 20 ft installation, Paper Dragons, Broolyn, which functions as a walk-in, physical video, appeared in Bigger Bolder Better at 470 Vanderbilt Ave, Brooklyn, sponsored by Chashama. In 2016 a multipart tabletop cItyscape, Video City, appeared in the exhibition, Land, Air, Place at Project ARTspace in Manhattan. In 2014-2015 large-scale installations by the artist appeared in exhibitions of site-specific work in Brooklyn at Storefront Ten Eyck, curated by Karin Bravin, and in Atlanta and Duluth, Georgia presented by Dashboard. In 2011-2013 her work was exhibited in a number of 2- and 3-person shows or screenings, including at Kijdome, Boston, and dB Visual Artist Series / Dungeon Beach, Storefront Bushwick, Creon Gallery and Studio Salon curated by David Gibson, all in New York City. Groups shows include exhibitions at Denise Bibro Fine Arts, Lesley Heller Workspace, Van Der Plas Gallery, Janet Kurnatowski Gallery, Norte Maar, Associated Gallery, Brooklyn Fire Proof, Active Space, Sugar in Bushwick, NY Studio Gallery, Sideshow Gallery, PS 122, and Nurtureart.
Elizabeth Riley's videos have appeared in screenings at home and abroad, including venues in England, Madrid, Copenhagen and Berlin. These new small-scale paintings were created using gouache on handmade paper. Alexandra Rutsch Brock then “drew” with a sewing machine using various colored threads. Using the thread as a painted line, playing with the marks and motifs the machine allows that creates contrast in both surface and color. They are sewn directly with no preliminary sketches, just instinctive gesture, sometimes in a similar color to enhance a texture, other times contrasting as a new element. The entangled threads that dangle down emphasize the materiality. Working so closely to the surface, she is aware of the senses of seeing, breathing, touching and feeling……………escaping into these new surfaces.
Alexandra Rutsch Brock has exhibited in solo and group shows most recently at The Keck School at USC, CA, The Painting Center, NY, Village West Gallery, NJ and Misericordia University, PA.

About the artist:
Thang Kiang How was born in 11th Sept.1946 in Malaysia
Kiang How received the Public Service Medal (PBM) awarded by the President of Singapore in 1981 for his contribution to Singapore Nation Building. In the past 30 years, he has been an active participant in local and international art scenes. His unique technique of blending acrylic and airbrush printing effect on canvas and paper has become his trademark in the art circle and is constantly involved in major art projects (sculpture and murals). He has held 12 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 100 group exhibitions in countries, such as Australia, China, France, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam and also Singapore. He received many local and international awards.His works are collected by local as well as overseas museums, organizations and private collectors. He was the President of Modern Art Society Singapore (1982 – 1993), Vice President of Federation of Art Societies Singapore (1990 – 1996) and sits on the panel in National Arts Council (1984 – 1993). However, he was the person brought MASS onto a regional platform, Asian International Art Exhibition (AIAE) hosting by members in Federation of Asian Artists (FAA) yearly in 1990.

Elizabeth Riley’s work addresses questions concerning the complex and changing world we inhabit and our “mixed reality,” living between physical and digital/virtual contexts – are we our everyday, familiar, material past, or our digital future, and is this apparent “mixed reality” of the moment to be embraced or resisted. Is the digital present the bells and whistles of an unchanged and familiar humanity or does it define us, and the future. This project is embodied in tabletop cityscapes, structural wall works and installations including video, inkjet-printed video stills, and found home furnishings.
Other continuing threads at play in my body of work are the struggle to overcome oppression as a woman – and a relationship with the urban environment and constructed space, as both personal and paradigmatic space. Exhibited in Excessive Frugalities, Digital Feet and Rocking Posture are three dimensional wall works made from multicolored video stills inkjet-printed on paper, and paint on the tough mylar-like material, duralar. These work combine illusionistic space with constructed elements in a multidimensional mashup of traditional and new mediums.

In April 2017, the site-specific participatory installation, City Remix, appeared in the exhibition Reconstruct at LIU, in Brooklyn, and in June 2017 the 20 x 20 ft installation, Paper Dragons, Broolyn, which functions as a walk-in, physical video, appeared in Bigger Bolder Better at 470 Vanderbilt Ave, Brooklyn, sponsored by Chashama. In 2016 a multipart tabletop cItyscape, Video City, appeared in the exhibition, Land, Air, Place at Project ARTspace in Manhattan. In 2014-2015 large-scale installations by the artist appeared in exhibitions of site-specific work in Brooklyn at Storefront Ten Eyck, curated by Karin Bravin, and in Atlanta and Duluth, Georgia presented by Dashboard. In 2011-2013 her work was exhibited in a number of 2- and 3-person shows or screenings, including at Kijdome, Boston, and dB Visual Artist Series / Dungeon Beach, Storefront Bushwick, Creon Gallery and Studio Salon curated by David Gibson, all in New York City. Groups shows include exhibitions at Denise Bibro Fine Arts, Lesley Heller Workspace, Van Der Plas Gallery, Janet Kurnatowski Gallery, Norte Maar, Associated Gallery, Brooklyn Fire Proof, Active Space, Sugar in Bushwick, NY Studio Gallery, Sideshow Gallery, PS 122, and Nurtureart.

Nancy became a full time artist only after ending another creative career. She moved to California to attend college, and happily worked in television for many years. Nancy was born in Kingston, New York, but moved to Utah at age 7 when her father was transferred for his work. With her family, she spent her summers exploring many of the national parks, and natural wonders of the west where her father loved to fish and photograph. He instilled in her a love and appreciation for the beauty and colors of nature, while her mother taught her many of the lessons of art.
