Biography:
Playwright, poet and visual artist, Rev. Richard Mann was born and educated in Melbourne Australia. At the height of America's counter-cultural revolution, Mann moved to New York City where he lived and worked in Harlem.
He was influenced by surrealism, abstract expressionism, and calligraphy at the time of his arrival.
Beginning in the mid-1970's, the extreme living conditions of Harlem and demands of his religious calling provided subject matter for his painting. Urban decay and ubiquitous public graffiti provide inspiration for compositions that include highly stylized writing.
By the late 1970's many works incorporate writing exclusively, with areas of layered, obscured and illegible words, very much like repeatedly tagged walls.

Elizabeth Gourlay’s work is a meditation on color and form, a gradual yet progressive analysis leading to a complex vocabulary of shapes, color and line. Musical composition, emotional states and our collective subconscious resonate within bars, lines and blocks of color. The abstract forms emerge, layer and shift in precisely ordered, carefully composed rhythms. Gourlay's artwork is a contemplation of the elements that make color in reduced forms come to life: size, flatness, relation to its edges, and how the presence of other colors affect how it is perceived.
Gourlay drew inspiration from shapes found in everyday life and in her studio. The observed shapes either remain as they are or become simplified to their essential geometric elements. Subtleties in color, area, edge or orientation are the catalyst for emotive responses. Palette is minimized; the artist rarely used a wide palette within one work. Rather, a broad range of colors are explored and then reduced. Gourlay investigates color properties: complementary or analogous color, value, saturation and color harmony vs. color anomaly.
Elizabeth’s Gourlay’s work has been shown extensively throughout the United States. The artist was the recipient of numerous residencies, fellowships and awards including Artist in Residence at the studio of Sol LeWitt in Spoleto, Italy. Born on January 12, 1917, Touzet's journey into the art of jewelry began at the tender age of 13, training under the prestigious Mauboussin in Paris. His talent and dedication quickly set him apart, and by November 17, 1944, he had officially registered his business, soon after obtaining his hallmark—a distinctive "P.A.T. / a bicycle wheel butterfly"—on December 7, 1944.
Paul Touzet's artistry is celebrated for its collaborations with iconic houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, and Sterlé, reflecting the highest standards of French luxury. His exclusive designs have graced the likes of legendary figures, including the beloved singer Charles Aznavour, for whom he crafted exquisite pieces. Touzet's craftsmanship even reached royal circles, with bespoke tuxedo buttons personally delivered to Prince Rainier of Monaco and stunning jewelry designed for his wife, Princess Grace of Monaco (Grace Kelly).
