Patricia Gren Hayes (American, b. 1932) is a Bay Area Figurative & Feminist Art Movement artist who studied at Winnipeg Public Art School in 1950. She received early recognition in Museum and Gallery competitions and exhibitions and was awarded a Special Education in Art recognition by the Winnipeg Museum of Fine Art, and was awarded a scholarship to the Banff College of Fine Art. This illustration for Kuppenheimer Clothes appeared in various advertisements and promotional materials in 1926 and 1927, such as the cover of a race-themed Kuppenheimer advertising booklet, as well as the interior page of the Kuppenheimer Spring & Summer 1926 brochure, where the associated caption states: “This double-breasted, with slender hips and broad Curvette shoulders, will be quite the thing with stylish young fellows this spring – especially in the new shades of Ambertone and Silvertone.” A wood-engraving of the image was completed by Jacob Sander for use in newspapers in 1926. Engravings like this were often created to eliminate the difficulties associated with half-tone production on the poor quality newspaper stock.
The present work showcases the artist’s ability to capture an idealized vision of male beauty. The rich colors and textures of the fabrics applied with Leyendecker’s signature painterly technique further enhance the appeal of the clothing the picture advertises.
In the early spring of 1926, in preparation for upcoming Kuppenheimer advertising projects, J.C. Leyendecker visited the Aqueduct Racetrack horse racing facility in Queens, New York. 18th century painting of the Dalbiac family in the gardens of a country house

The painting depicts James (Jacques) Dalbiac, his wife Louise (ne de la Porte) and their five children, James, Charles, Louise, Marianne and Martha in the ornamental gardens of a grand country estate.
The extensive gardens extend into the distance with gardeners working in the background and figures strolling through the avenues of trees. A peacock and peahen can be seen on the wall to the left and a potted orange tree to the right. Louise Dalbiac holds an orange taken from the orange tree, aluding to the family's faith and their loyalty to the protestant King William of Orange and their adopted country.
The Dalbiacs were wealthy London silk and velvet merchants of French Huguenot origin who had fled France at the end of the 17th century to escape persecution for their protestant faith. England offered safe refuge and their skills and industriousness allowed them to establish one of the most successful businesses in London's Spitalfields which became a new centre of the silk trade, effectively leading to the collapse of the once dominant French silk industry. Both sons, James and Charles followed their father and Uncle into the family business, successfully growing the family's fortune and each going on to own their own country estates.
A conversation piece is a genre of painting used to describe group portraits of families and friends, often depicted with their servants and family pets and set within an elegantly furnished interior or the garden of a grand country house. They were a celebration of the intimacy of family relations as well as a sign of status, property and the power of succession. The informality of conversation pieces grew popular in 18th century England, allowing the sitters to present themselves in a more relaxed pose, perhaps engaged in intellectual conversation or showing their talents or interests. In this present portrait, the Dalbiacs are shown richly dressed and and at leisure in a grand country house setting, conveying their success and cultural and social aspirations.

The marine paintings by Anton Otto Fischer are as authoritative as only a working sailor could make them. Born in Munich, Germany but orphaned as a boy, Fischer ran away to sea at 16 and spent eight years before the mast on a variety of sailing ships. Paid off in New York, he stayed to apply for American citizenship and to teach seamanship on the school ship, "St. Mary's." He later served as a hand on racing yachts on Long Island Sound and worked as a model and handyman for the illustrator A.B. Frost. When he had saved enough money, he spent two years at the Academie Julian in Paris under Laurens.
Returning to the United States, Fischer sold his first picture to Harper's Weekly in 1908, around the time he moves to Wilmington to receive critiques from Pyle. Everybody's magazine sent him the first of several Jack London stories. In 1910, he began a 48-year association with The Saturday Evening Post, which included illustrating seialized characters such as Peter B. Kyne's "Crappy Ricks," Norman Reilly Raine's "Tugoat Annie," Guy Gilpatrick's "Glencannon," as well as serials for Kenneth Robert...

Nii Kpetenkple Samuel is one of such gifted and talented Artist; Painting to me, is one of the eloquent media for expressing myself about all the corners of the world and all that it holds; Of course it is not by accident, that i went into Painting. Nii Kpetenkple was born and bred in a coastal town, a suburb of Accra called NUNGUA, it's only 10 miles away from Accra. I am now in my late twenties.
Nii Kpetenkple, had his training as an Artist at one of the secondary schools in Accra - Ghana. Later I had my tertiary training at Ultimate school of Art, (u.s.a) Ghana.
I enjoy sketching, swimming, reading and music that keeps me working always. My childhood experiences with fishermen in their fishing expedition, fish mongers, market women, local houses or structures and meaningful Ghanaian symbols with abstract figures made me one of the expert in that area.
As an Artist, art enables me to see nature as eternal, grasp a fragment of the Almighty's plan, even a bit of land scape, few pieces of fruits or a human form.
Throughout my period of contemplation and years of uninterrupted close contact with nature, vast truths flashed upon my mental horizon, to which i gave expression in my paintings.
I had no doubt that, i had discovored a new realm in the world of painting and would carry on to a fuller completion with what many gurus of the Art industry like Picasso, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Cezanne, Van gogh, Gauguin, Ablade Grover, Amon Kotei...
