Janet Jennings is known for her luminous oil & watercolor paintings. After working for Lawrence Rubin at Knoedler Contemporary Art, Jennings maintained a studio at Waverly Studios in New York City. She began as a Color Field painter, working on canvas and linen. Janet moved to Amagansett, NY in 1981 and switched her focus to landscape painting. Her career path led her to teach at The Parrish Art Museum, Guild Hall & The Victor D’amico Institute of Art. From 1993 to 1998, she was the Chair of the Andy Warhol Visual Arts Preserve Program. Jennings maintains ties to the art community as an educator and curator. She is a member of the East Hampton Arts Council, an advocacy group for performing and visual artists of East Hampton. Ms. Jennings maintains a painting studio in East Hampton and currently teaches oil and watercolor classes. In 1997, she was a founding member of CMEE, The Children’s Museum of the East End. Working with Lee Skolnick and JoAnn Secor, she was an exhibit designer and fabricator for “Time and Place, Light and Space”, the initial installation at Guild Hall, which launched CMEE. She was a lead designer for the permanent exhibition installation of CMEE, located in Bridgehampton, NY. Jennings received her BFA from the University of Dayton and attended The Dayton Art Institute, Antioch College and The Art Students League. Her paintings are in numerous corporate and private collections worldwide. Leah Schrager is an artist who works between the web and New York City. She graduated in 2015 with an MFA in Fine Art from Parsons, The New School. In her work, she photographs, appears in, augments and markets her own image. She is interested in the line, movement and, biography of the female body. In 2010, she founded a new form of therapy as Sarah White, The Naked Therapist, followed by online performance @OnaArtist (Instagram 3 million+). Her project, “Ona,” an artist and musician, evolved out of the question of celebrity as art practice. With her performances, Schrager explores themes of sexuality, representation, and distribution. Her practice is situated in a contemporary hotbed of female (in)appropriateness, arousal, celebrity, fandom, and commercialism that seeks to explore female biography and labor in today’s global society. Schrager has been compared by journalists to such seminal figures as Marina Abramovic, Marcel Duchamp, Laurel Nakadate, Diane Fossey, and Sigmund Freud. WHAT IS A CYANOTYPE?

Cyanotype is a historic photographic processes, invented in 1842 and used by Anna Atkins–the first female photographer. The process involves coating watercolor paper with light-sensitive chemistry made of iron salts. Photographic negatives are laid on top, exposed in the sunlight, and then washed in water to develop into the deep Prussian-blue unique to cyanotypes. A Promised Land - I

Presently I am working on a series of charcoal drawings titled “A Promised Land” which is the result
as well as a logical progression of my current engagement with art and ecology. The series drew
inspiration from my reading of Pranay Lal’s Indica: A Deep Natural History of the Indian
Subcontinent (2016). The book’s focus on sheer life force and exuberance stemming out of India’s
natural history and the science behind life not only inspired me but also forced me to think deeply
about the state of life on the planet. The title, therefore, is ironically suggestive of the way humankind
is (mis)treating natural resources to fulfil its unbridled greed. The series across thirty or more
drawings attempts to build an apocalyptic vision of life where the natural world and the animals who
inhabit it bear the brunt of over-exploitation. The first out of the six drawings which are complete by
now shows the dead root-like structure of a tree which looks fossilised and bears the expression of a
dissatisfied creature which seems to be stranded on a lonely landscape. The second drawing is that of
a neatly fleeced skeleton of a blue whale on a patch of land. The image brings to the forefront issues
of poaching and illegal hunting of whales for commercial gains. The third drawing again deals with
the same issue but this time the goriness of the misdeeds of humankind is in the shape of a decaying
carcass of an elephant. It is half covered in decayed skin and half visible revealing the rib cage.
The fourth drawing is a highly metaphorical one where a large pile of elephant tusks is seen neatly
arranged and bears an uncanny resemblance with a human pyre. The fifth drawing is that of a synthetic
net left on the landscape. The image is a telling account of the ill effects of fishing which results in
bycatch thereby impacting the water beds...
