Deep Creek Seeps 10, Minimalist painting inspired by Agnes Martin New Mexico art
Located in New York, NY
Johnnie Winona Ross Deep Creek Seeps 10, 2007 Oil paint on acrylic base burnished on Belgian linen Signed twice, dated and titled on the verso; also bears the original Stephen Haller Gallery label\ Canvas is stretched against wooden backing but no outer frame This work was originally sold by the Stephen Haller Gallery which hosted several critically acclaimed, sell-out shows of New Mexico resident Johniie Winona Ross, whose exquisite Minimalist aesthetic really took hold with collectors. The debt to famous New Mexico resident and Minimalist goddess Agnes Martin is obvious, but Winona Ross has a disctinctive style and technique of his own. The process of creating this work was laborious: Ross typically applies as many as 90-100 layers of paint to each canvas, then scrapes the surface with a straight-edged razor to reveal the many layers (and their chronology), and finally burnishing the surface with a Pueblo pottery stone to achieve a soft gloss. Maureen Mullarkey of Studio Matters wrote in 2010: THE LOVELINESS OF JOHNNIE WINONA ROSS' paintings elude translation into either reproduction or verbal description. In 2011, ArtDaily published this announcement from Stephen Haller, publicizing a later exhibition: "Washington Post critic Stephen Parks characterized Ross’s work in this way: “From a distance his canvases appear to be simple, minimal constructions of horizontal stripes with hints of vertical color in the background. Up close the paintings are seen to be extraordinarily beautiful and complex objects that induce a humming meditative state.” Ross grounds his work in the inspiration of the desert of the American Southwest, and borrows techniques from ancient Native American sources, melding them with a distinctly sophisticated and utterly contemporary vision. His use of the Native American technique of burnishing pigment and minerals with a potter’s stone to create a hard surface with a visually warm sheen creates an effect reminiscent of the softening of marble steps...

Golden Emerald - Framed Original Minimalist Green Abstract Contemporary Art
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Clara Berta’s acrylic and mixed-media paintings blend texture and color to create harmony, mystery, and depth on the painted surface. Her paintings transform spaces into Zen environments where one can quiet a cluttered mind and enjoy beauty every day. Clara Berta’s paintings explore themes such as the ebb and flow of memory, the significance of personal heritage, the passing of physical time, desire, grief, and love. This framed original minimalist green abstract contemporary artwork measures 13-inches square. It is framed in a natural wood frame, is wired, and ready to hang. The size includes the frame. It is signed and titled by the artist on the back. Convenient local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping is available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Clara Berta explores the collision between the old and new; destruction and rebuilding lives. She began painting as an outlet of grief; creating something beautiful as the result of loss. Through her creative practice, she has found healing and further offers to her community safe spaces for troubled teens and women to heal through the meditative process of painting. Her artworks are a language, a push forward in new directions and achievements, while always inspired by history. Berta mixes minimalism with underlying texture and embraces modernism while compiling the odds and ends of her attempts to let her art speak for itself. Her abstract works often include reminders of her travels expressed in unexpected sequences of patterns as well as distortion of perspectives and subconscious spaces. Manipulating the texture with several layers of texture paste and acrylic paint, she will work and re-work her canvases, layering textures to give added dimension, and creating works that intrigue and invite the viewer to explore not only the surface but also the inner language of the painting. A passionate, award-winning artist of Hungarian heritage, Clara Berta's dynamic and highly textural abstract works have been exhibited and collected worldwide. Off-White - Textural Abstract Peaceful Layered Minimalist Artwork on Canvas
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Painting is fearlessly following an instinct for Togolese artist Olympio. His work is honest and palpable—exposed, raw, and direct. It is an unfiltered manifestation of his soul. Bright, energetic marks encircle rough textures, balanced by peaceful compositions emanating from below the surface. Olympio’s art transforms walls into landscapes of color and form, creating an engaging focal point that elevates any room's aesthetic to a new level. The heavily textured layers in Olympio’s work create a tangible sense of depth, drawing the eye and enriching the space with a bold yet nuanced presence. This mostly white 48-inch high by 36-inch wide mixed media painting is signed by Olympio on the back of the canvas. The many layers in his work emphasize the texture and visceral nature of his canvases. The painting is wired and ready to hang. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable U.S. and global shipping is available. A Certificate of Authenticity issued by Artplex Gallery is included. For the abstract artist Olympio, art is a dance of textures and colors, woven from an eclectic medley of canvas and textiles. Each stroke on his canvas is a nod to the classical ideals of modern abstraction, a harmonious blend of purpose and spontaneity. The linens and canvases he selects have borne witness to various conditions and interactions, embracing the imprints of their past experiences. Olympio meticulously stretches, glues, and layers these diverse fabrics together, infusing them with additional layers of acrylic paint, a fusion of careful craft and serendipitous revelation. In Olympio's art, deliberate strokes mingle with accidental splashes, forming a mesmerizing canvas that speaks to the ethos of modernism's evolution. It's a reminder that the legends of yesteryears now manifest as a distinct style, a testament to their enduring influence. His mastery over the medium amplifies, imbuing each piece with a romantic essence carefully counterbalanced by his practiced modesty. The strokes, swirling and turbulent, are immersed in a rich, opulent application of paint, akin to an expansive honeysuckle-pink landscape or a brooding soot-gray abyss. Yet within this whirlwind of impressions, Olympio maintains a sense of purpose, an elusive process that surrenders control to the animated paint and sculptural fabrics. Olympio possesses a rare duality, orchestrating the delicate balance between sensuality and subtlety within his creations. Navigating these opposing forces, he transcends distractions and attains the perfect pitch, crafting a visual symphony that resonates deeply. Olympio was born into a large family of eight children in Lomé, Togo, West Africa. He began his creating art by using building scraps to make sculptures. By the time he was in high school, he started to experiment with mixed-media and collage. He later transitioned to acrylic and oil on canvas. In 2001, Olympio left his home in Africa to live in Paris. Olympio moved to the United States in 2003 and has continued to paint. His work has been exhibited at Art Basel Miami, where in 2018 he was ranked one of the Top 10 Artists by Red Dot Miami. He was also recently interviewed for France 2, TV5Monde, and the BBC. His work has been exhibited and collected internationally.
