This is an antique Chinese hand potted Red Clay YIXING Teapot and cover, fully marked, which we date to the late Qing period, Circa 1890, or possibly earlier.

In time, among Chinese tea connoisseurs, it was considered that a Yixing teapot made the perfect tea drink; a belief that carries through to the present day.
