OLD BURMA (MYANMAR) UNTREATED, UNHEATED RUBY, ROSE CUT DIAMOND AND SEED PEARL NECKLACE. LATE 19TH CENTURY. (Gujarat, India)
Consisting of a pendant centrally set and designed as an alternating series of oval-cut ruby and old-cut diamond clusters, within seed pearl borders, suspending a pear-shaped panel drop set with an old-cut diamond, to the oval-cut ruby frame and further pearl fringes,
Mounted in 22 K Gold. Sixteen rose cut (original hand cut, natural diamonds: 8.98 carats (original hand cut, as per the period) ; eighteen Burmese untreated/unheated rubies: oval faceted mixed cut weighing 23.55 carats.
Measuring approximately 34 cm long and pendant 4 cm
Total gross weight:: 39.41 grams
Accompanied by report no.14073 dated 16th April 2017 from the Gem and Pearl Laboratory, London stating that the samples of rubies are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Provenance Indian Family Christie´s London.
