Designed by pioneering American fashion designer Scott Barrie, the jacket is constructed in layers upon layers of delicate black floral lace, creating a spectacular tiered and ruffled silhouette. The lace cascades across the shoulders, front, back and sleeves, giving the piece exceptional movement and dimension while maintaining the soft, romantic quality associated with Barrie’s work. The cropped silhouette has the drama of a cape while retaining the structure and wearability of a jacket. A black grosgrain-trimmed center front is finished with faceted black buttons, while the high rounded neckline and voluminous elbow-length sleeves create an unmistakably 1970s romantic and bohemian glamour.
