This impressive example of an early 20th century French Rococo palace size clock set comes from the prestigious E. Colin & Cie of Paris foundry. The sculpted ensemble is detailed with crisp elaborate scrolling accented with a full figure cupid with quiver atop the clock. The clock & candelabras are decorated in a brilliant gold doré' finish. The set was commissioned by Tiffany & Co. & featured in the 1900, Paris Exposition. The clock has Roman numerals & bears "Tiffany & Co." on its stunning white enamel face. Lapointe, Paris, eight-day time-and-strike movement signed Samuel Marti 1900 (Paris, 1870-1890), original Apollo mask sun-burst pendulum hanging below clock drum, flanked by matched pair of two arm candlestick garnitures, each with matching scrolled foliates and lyre finial, tapering column support with two candle nozzles, rising on stepped molded base, terminating in patinated brass disc feet.
