A lovely late George III single pad ebonized eight-day, twin fusee table clock with original verge escapement and rack striking by O. Hamley, circa 1800-1815. The moulded single pad ebonized domed top case with original carrying handle is raised on all four of its original ogee bracket feet onto a detailed base moulding. Gilt-brass sound frets adorn the sides and front in a 'fish scale' pattern backed with bright burgundy silk. The enameled white dial displays Roman numerals, minute and quarter-hour markers housed inside a gilt-brass bezel and domed glass, signed Hamley, Warwick Place, London. The clock features a strike/silent switch on the front dial and a repeat to the right-hand-side. The backplate has border engraving and a short pendulum. Date: 1800-1815 O. This vintage hand carved and hand painted musical clock is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in or near Austria in circa 1950 in a Folk Art style. The carving depicts a male figure leaning against a post mounted Black Forest styled clock. The carving is quite detailed and well executed on all sides and has been hand painted in a realistic style. Both the clock and the music box are currently not working as both have been over-wound and would require servicing. The head of the carving should turn slightly left to right while the music box is playing, but in its current state it is unknown whether the mechanism functions and/or what tune the music box may play. In addition, there is currently no key for the clock, but these normally use a standard small music box...

Exceptional Murano glass table clock produced by Barovier & Toso in Italy during the 1950s–1960s. The piece is composed of a substantial circular ring of hand-blown Murano glass executed in filigrana technique, featuring an internal white lattimo decoration arranged in a continuous helical pattern. This sculptural glass frame surrounds a circular clock face mounted on a smoked glass support with a finely detailed gilt-metal structure and stand. The remarkable purity and optical dynamism of the glass reflect the refined Venetian craftsmanship associated with mid-century Murano production. Both decorative and architectural in presence, the clock embodies the elegant balance between sculpture and functional design characteristic of Italian glassmaking of the period. The restrained silvered dial with minimalist Arabic numerals and delicate gilt hands contrasts beautifully with the expressive movement of the surrounding glass, creating a highly sophisticated modernist composition. Founded in 1936 through the merger of Vetreria Artistica Barovier and Ferro Toso, Barovier & Toso became one of the most important Murano glass manufacturers of the 20th century. Bears the makers mark, Finot a Versailles. The dial supporting a reclining bronze classical muse on a rectangular white Carrara marble base decorated by a row of gilt bronze beads, the set rests on four feet. The cross in the hand of the bronze muse can be removed (see photos). This 19th Century figurative clock is very decorative, interesting for its technicality of the dial and provenance. The bronze feminine muse and its shape has a perfect patina and is a remarkable conversational piece. The garniture set are a pair of fine neoclassical bronze vases with brown and golden patina that rest on white Carrara marble embellished with gilt bronze figural handles...
