This exceptional vintage English sterling silver presentation trophy/centerpiece has a levelled podium style, tiered form. The central platform retains the original, exceptional and hallmarked cast sterling silver figure attired in full Scottish highland dress and playing bagpipes. The lower tiers are fitted with the original hallmarked cast ornaments, each modelled in the form of a jockey mounted on a stationary horse, standing on grass terrain base. Each model is secured to the original ebonized wood plinth. The silver sugar box is embellished with chased details reproducing the squirrel's coat and anatomical features, in additional to the naturalistic features of the branches, leaves and acorns. This exceptional and large antique silver squirrel sugar box is fitted with the original push fit head/cover. Such magnificent specially commissioned, large examples in this form are highly unusual and are not available on the open market.
