This is a fabulous and rare desk cigar box-humidor created in France during the art deco period, circa 1918. The amazing piece is very decorative and designed in the stylized shape of the French WWI Saint-Charmond Tank. The cigar humidor has been crafted with geometric sharp lines in carved cedar wood and embellished with black and gray lacquers. It is fitted with a push lock and two hinges.

The Saint. Chamond was a French heavy tank, the second model used by the French Army in World War I. Its design was inadequate and was conceived primarily because of a commercial rivalry. The war ended before it was replaced by the British Mark series tanks. Born of the commercial rivalry existing with the makers of the Schneider CA1 tank, the Saint-Chamond was an underpowered and fundamentally inadequate design. Its principal weakness was its Holt caterpillar tracks. They were much too short in relation to the vehicle's length and weight (23 tons). This charming desk figurine in dark brown patinated Viennese bronze by the famous Austrian sculptor Karl Kaub stands out for the originality and humor of its subject matter. The author depicted with amazing subtlety a boy who jumped on one leg in fright, suddenly seeing a frog sitting on his arm.
CARL KAUBA (Austrian, 1865-1922) was born August 13, 1865 in Vienna, Austria. The son of a shoemaker, Kauba chose to follow his calling into the world of art. Collectors now rank him in a class with Remington and Russell as one of the great portrayers of American Western. His subjects were typically American Indians, calvarymen, cowboys, and roughriders. In addition to his American bronzes, Kauba produced a lifetime’s worth of Austrian statuary. His work became fully appreciated on both sides of the Atlantic.
Carl studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under professor Laufenberg. Later he would study at the academies under Carl Waschmann and Stefan Schwartz. Next, he went to Paris in 1886 to further study before he set off for the U.S. In fact, some debate still remains as to whether Kauba ever visited the U.S.
Kauba’s fascination with the West was fired by the stories of the German writer, Carl May, whose tales of Western adventure were well known throughout Europe. Most authorities feel that he was about twenty-five years old when he traveled widely throughout the American West. While all examples of this piece are rare, the glazes here are extremely unusual, emphasizing a dark ebony color contrasting with a rich purple for the grapes. Officially noted as a "drunken young man," this piece was one of a series depicting wine-lovers issued in 1912, which also included a Bacchus on a donkey, a satyr boy with grapes, and a satyr paired with a woman. Nielsen was a noted sculptor in Denmark, active in the early 20th century, who was heavily influenced by Rodin and Maillol and dealt often with mythological subjects. An exceptional, fine and impressive set of antique George V English sterling silver, enamel and glass scent bottles; an addition to our silver mounted glass collection.
This exceptional antique George V scent bottle container has a cylindrical form.
The surface of the body is embellished with exceptional pale blue guilloche enamel accented with violet floral garlands above a transitional band of purple enamel incorporating minute floral motifs.
The cover is ornamented with further enamel decoration with violet floral garlands suspended from a scrolling trellis style border to the upper portion.
The upper plateau of the cover is encircled with further enamel ornamentation reflecting the design to the lower portion of the body.
The cover opens to reveal the original three glass perfume bottles and stoppers.
Each bottle is fitted with a silver mount ornamented with a band of pale blue enamel.
These antique perfume bottles are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior bearing the retailer's mark 'Diamond Merchants, Searle & Co Ltd, Goldsmiths & Silversmiths, 79 Lombard St, London'.
The cover of the box secures with a decorative trefoil hinged catch.
The shaped glass body of each antique perfume bottles is embellished with stepped ornamentation to the upper portion.
The interior of the sterling silver chamber, cover and mounts to the bottles retain the original gilding.
Condition
These antique scent bottles are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The glass perfume bottles are in perfect condition.
The original gilding shows signs of wear in keeping with age.
There is a slight surface abrasion to the enamel at the top rim of the container.
The interior of the original box is in excellent condition, in keeping with age; the exterior surface is in excellent presentation condition.
Full import hallmarks struck to the underside of the sterling silver container and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks show signs of wear in keeping with age but remain legible.

very rare Bezalel Jerusalem plate , this amazing plate has the best subject And artistic Design i have seen in a lot of years, the plate has 5 different scenes from the story Of Adam And Eve in the garden pf Eden.
On the middle of the plate the is an Hebrew inscription, it is parts from the 5 lines that describe The 5 scene on the plate:
"וַיִּ֩יצֶר֩ אֶת־הָֽאָדָ֗ם עָפָר֙ מִן־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה"
"And the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground"
"לֹא־ט֛וֹב הֱי֥וֹת הָֽאָדָ֖ם לְבַדּ֑וֹ"
"And the Lord God said, "It is not good that man is alone"
"'וַיִּֽהְי֤וּ שְׁנֵיהֶם֙ עֲרוּמִּ֔ים"
"Now they were both naked"
"וַתִּקַּ֥ח מִפִּרְי֖וֹ וַתֹּאכַ֑ל וַתִּתֵּ֧ן גַּם־לְאִישָׁ֛הּ"

This rare plate is fully marked on the back "BEZALEL JERUSALEM" in Hebrew, the Jerusalem Mark is a bit worn but it is present, on the top of the mark there is the number 522 which is Probably the model number, this plate was mad on the early 1910s or even earlier and it is one of Bezalel earliest works, it is not known who is the artist but the artistic style is typical of Reuben Leaf Lipschitz, he was working in Bezalel in 1912-1916 and was the manager of the etching Department in this time frame, in 1916 he moved to the USA to escape joining the ottoman army in ww1. he stayed in the USA and became a graphic designer who designed and decorated Synagogues he also made graphic designs a illustrations to Hebrew books...
