Silver Art Nouveau Centerpiece With High Legs & Plastic Putti, France Circa 1910
About the Item
Exceptional and elegant silver jardinière of elliptical basic form on high curved volute legs with attached fully plastic putti as torchbearers and feather leaf rests on the rolled feet, vessel with straight vertical wall and regular openings in the form of rhythmically staggered column+arch elements, framed by palmette-relief bands, on the front and back coat-of-arms-shaped panels bordered with bands, straight top edge, rosettes applied lengthwise opposite each other on the outside.
Matching glass insert with straight upper edge and stone cut on the rim protruding from the silver vessel, as well as large cut bottom star.
