Art Nouveau Silver Jardinière With Original Glass Liner, Otto Wolter, Germany

About the Item

Elegant silver vessel in rectangular base form with slightly bulging side walls widening upwards, corner decorations with volutes and acanthus motifs in fluted pilasters tapering downwards to high volute feet, bundled decorative bands on top and bottom edges, two raised handles with acanthus leaf overlays at the connections, two braces on the inside for stabilization and as a support for the glass insert, gilding on the inside. Original matching glass insert with curved walls, as well as fan-like serrated cut at the corners, cut decorations at the top edge, as well as cut bottom star.
