Created for Bunraku theatre, this Bunraku, known in Japan as a Ningyo Jorurui, depicts a samurai warrior. He is dressed in full kamishimo, with a kataginu and hakama of rich brocade featuring gold thread on a coral ground. A pair of removable swords sit at his waist.
