Art Deco 1930 porcelain figure by Karl Tutter (1883-1969) for Hutschenreuther. This piece has been created in Bavaria, Germany back in the 1930. This was designed by the artist Karl Tutter-one of the premiere porcelain modelers of his day!-and made by the Lorenz Hutschenreuther depicting a naked women, with the arms open in direction to the sun, this pose called Sun Child. The main body is decorated with delicate skin cream color, with accents of black, red and light gilding. all mounted in a ball on a round pedestal base. This piece have a height measure of 12.75 inches (32.40 Cm) and the base have a diameter of 3 inches (7.6 Cm). This enameled silver desk clock is unsigned, so a specific maker cannot be identified, but the case was made in France, and the movement in Switzerland in the period and style of Art Deco. The silver content of the case has not been tested, but is believed to be Continental or .800 or just under .925 sterling, The front of the clock is ornately enameled with raised bright red flowers on each corner with contrasting black and red geometric panels with green accents, which are duplicated on the sides. A Napoleon III Gilt-Bronze Mantel Clock, 'Pendule à Cercles Tournants', By Jean-François Denière, Paris. Of imposing scale, surrounded by four winged putti and garlands of flowers in clouds enveloping a bleu celeste tole star-studded sphere. On a shaped base with a wreath and courting doves. The square-plated movement with Brocot escapement and outside count wheel striking on a bell. Stamped to the backplate ‘Deniere A Paris’ and numbered ‘2385’. France, Circa 1860. This clock, magnificent of scale and conception, numbers amongst Denière's most impressive creations. Denière delivered clocks to the Emperor at the château du Fontainebleau in 1857 and 1861. Both are modelled with playful cherubs pulling foliate garlands which show the same designer as those to the present clock. They can be attributed to the sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824 –1887) who from the 1850s produced for Denière models for candelabra, clocks, jardinieres and fireplace ornaments.
