Stunning and extremely rare Chamberlains Worcester Cabinet or Wall Plate of Museum quality. Second quarter of the Nineteenth Century. The central rectangular reserve depicts a superb hand painted miniature of the English National Gallery in Trafalgar Square, London. This miniature is firmly attributed to be the work of painter Humphrey Chamberlain. Researched done by us shows no other similar has survived. This exquisite piece of rectangular outline with lavish gold scrolling detail and twin handles with similar detail. Height: (entire overall as shown in image one) 9.25” (23.5cm). An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver cup & cover; an addition to our antique presentation silverware collection. This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver presentation cup & cover has a campania shaped form onto a circular spreading pedestal foot. The lower bulbous portion of body is encircled with chased fluted ornamentation. Either side of the plain upper portion of the body of this cup is embellished with an exceptional and large applied ribbon tied laurel branch wreath, replicating the border of a Classic cartouche. This impressive presentation cup retains the original hallmarked cover surmounted with an exceptional, Fine and impressive sterling silver overlapping leaf, bead and bud style finial. The rim of the cover is encompassed with an impressive applied egg and dart decorated border. This antique cup and cover is fitted with two very impressive handles modelled in the form of conjoined snakes, above a figural mask and Caduceus*.
