Created by renowned artist Charles Lemanceau in the mid-1930s, this rare and highly sought-after piece showcases his mastery of ceramic craftsmanship. The sculpture is produced in a distinctive crackle glaze technique, a hallmark of Lemanceau's work and the French Art Deco period. Dimensions: Width: 24.4" (62 cm), Height: 13.6" (34.5 cm). Condition: Very good, with some minor imperfections typical of the technique used during this period. This model is illustrated in the Sainte-Radegonde catalog (see photo) and is available in two sizes. The piece presented here is the larger of the two. It is also featured in Les Craquelés Art Déco by Alain-René Hardy & Bruno Giardi (page 109), as well as in Craquelés, Les Animaux en Céramique 1920-1940 by Patrick Malaureille (page 38), which is a reference book on French crackle glaze ceramics...
