Majestic, organic and inspiring tall lotus flower brass lamp famously made by the Feldman Lighting Company beginning in the 1950s. Feldman Lighting offered a large line of lotus inspired fixtures, lamps, centerpieces and candle holders of many forms and sizes of which our shop carries several of. This particular lamp is the largest of the lotus flower line. As if born from light - each layer representing a season of life - a ring of lotus flower petals grows in size with each layer down to maturity and full bloom. The lotus traditionally symbolizes strength. It can grow in even polluted waters and bloom, just with light. It perseveres through even the toughest obstacles to bloom. Brass petals are embossed with small lines softening the brass and adding organic detail. They are also malleable and can be gently bent to your pleasure. This table lamp is composed of a black lacquered and varnished base with a gold chrome metal structure, and the hand-blown master glass sculpture. This sculpture is made of one large solid piece of blown art glass depicting two parrots or bowerbirds. It is made of subtly smoked transparent glass with gold leaf, which gives the piece an orange hue. Signed on the base (see photos). Collector’s item. Mint condition.
