The “Repose” contemporary stool belongs to a collection that revisit the director chair collection, serene pieces where exclusivity and precision are shown in small details such as the hand-turned metal nuts and bolts that fix the leather surfaces, that go unnoticed at first sight. The robustness of the steel structure is combined with the delicacy of the rounded structure. The matte metal finishes evoke the passage of time and are complemented by vegetable tanned cowhide leathers that age gracefully with its use. The “Repose” armchair is designed and conceived as a tribute to director’s chair or luxury safari foldable furniture. All pieces are done with cold steel rods, machined on a turning lathe, black powder coated and lacquered with a matt rubber effect. Our signature screws are made with brass turning lathed, polished, and lacquered, these are the pieces that fix the saddle leather to the metal frame. Leathers are Spanish hides vegetable tanned. We use premium saddles in five colors to adjust to your taste and interior needs. This traditional vegetable dyeing and tanning method is an organic technique that relies on natural tannings from bark or plant tissues. The use of oils and natural fats give the leather a distinctive flexibility and texture, allowing it to be molded, retain its shape and age graciously. All skins are carefully selected from food industry sub-products, with a minimum thickness of 3.5 mm / 0,02 in, using the part of the animal's shoulder, which allows for larger pieces and uniformity, even though signature wrinkle from the animal’s neck may be recognizable. The vegetable tanning is a traditional and artisan treatment, which is respectful to the environment. Even with careful selection natural marks as a result of the contact with other animals, the age, origin and characteristics of the skin, or even the season in which the tanning takes place cannot be avoided. We still believe that these factors only add authenticity and uniqueness to every piece. Our leather parts are made with double saddles, always showing the top side of the hides that presents the better quality. Customization options.
