Storage stool produced by Flair in the Netherlands, circa 1970s.
This molded plastic object reflects the pragmatic and forward-looking approach that characterized Dutch domestic design during the late modern period. Conceived as a multifunction seating and storage element, the stool integrates a removable lid concealing an internal compartment, a molded carry handle and a built-in yarn holder—features originally intended for sewing and household organization.
Executed in saturated orange plastic with a contrasting white top, the piece embodies the optimistic material culture of the 1970s, when synthetic materials were explored as lightweight, durable and expressive alternatives to traditional furniture construction.
