A Stool by Jaclyn Pappalardo
Located in Geneve, CH
A Stool by Jaclyn Pappalardo Dimensions: W 53 x D 41 x H 43 cm Materials: Mild steel powder coated. Jaclyn is a designer and maker based in London. Her background in set design informs her creative work as a designer. Colour and texture play an important role in developing each and every project. With a particular interest in the use of seating, Jaclyn looks at chairs not only as a functional object but rather as a study of body, shape and language. Her work incorporates unconventional design techniques that stretch far from traditional craftsmanship. Exploring new techniques and material driven processes such as metal forming and non-traditional upholstery, she builds on similar profiles and repetitive patterns in the aim of creating something timeless. Jaclyn’s work has been published in Arcipelago, Modern House, Dezeen, Vogue and Luncheon magazine. Represented by The Radford Gallery & Fels World gallery in London UK. Hand Carved and Woven Stool, Partly Quilted Textile Pouf, Modern Burl Stool
By Custhom
Located in London, GB
The Oblique Burl stool is made using an Ash frame, sustainably sourced from an English timber merchants and hand carved and finished in our London studio. We use 100% hand picked Egyptian cotton that meets industry regulations for environmental safety, ethical production and the use of non – harmful chemicals. We blend the cotton with a Viscose flax, which stems from natural fibres and is processed in order to meet the qualities and abrasion required to satisfy European industry standards for both manufacture and use. Our products are made locally to us in South East London in small batches so as much as we can, we reduce the movement of our items and the possibility of generating unnecessary energy and material waste. The Oblique fabric collection was developed through the dissection and reduction of blocks of text. Interested in how non-verbal communication is evolving and questioning the importance of physical paper letters, the studio took influence from the mail art...
