The wings and head are movable! This jadeite jade dragonfly pendant / brooch is very life like and has great proportions! This is certified to be natural jadeite jade. 99% of jade with this imperial green color and transparency are treated and enhanced one way or another. But this one is certified all natural! The very versatile pendant / brooch is set in 18k white gold. The dragonfly has colorful enameled wings, there are also natural round brilliant diamonds and ruby eyes and tail. The center imperial jade cabochon is a pure beauty! The center jadeite measures about 10.3mm x 9.11mm. Throughout the brooch are more bright green natural jades and Burma rubies. There is an estimated 0.15cts of round brilliant diamonds in this setting. Natural un-treated imperial bright green jades of this quality are rare and highly sort after. This Jade dragonfly is eye catching and mesmerizing. The brooch is very noticeable, it glows with excellent translucency. You can see this from far away! The pendant brooch is about 5.75cm x 5.5cm or about 2.5. x 2.25 inches. Photos do not do this brooch / pendant justice. This would be a great gift for that special someone. About Acrostic Jewellery and Turtle Doves
In acrostic jewels the first letter of each gemstone spells out a word. Typical examples are words of endearment like "adore", "dearest" and "regard".
The utterly romantic trend of acrostic jewels began in the Georgian era and flourished throughout the Victorian period. It is believed that acrostic jewelry was first created by Jean-Baptiste Mellerio of the House of Mellerio, who started designing jewels with gems that spelled out “j’adore.”
Napoleon Bonaparte admired Mellario’s acrostic designs and commissioned acrostic jewels for both Empress Josephine and his second wife, Empress Marie Louise.
Secret messages of love encoded in gems went perfectly with the Georgian and Victorian love of romance and symbolic meanings. These sentimental jewels would have been gifted to lovers, family members, or even treasured friends.

This stunning, fine and impressive antique Victorian brooch has been crafted in 15k yellow gold.
This fine brooch has a pierced decorated elliptical frame, displaying two floral motifs.
The brooch is ornamented to the center with an impressive bezel set cabochon cut opal.
This stunning central gemstone is flanked with flower motifs, each ornamented to the center with a claw set Old European cut diamond.
Each diamond is encircled by six individually set cabochon cut opals, completing the cluster designs.
The elliptical frame conjoining each floral cluster is embellished with two claw set round faceted cut rubies to the center of the arch.
The Victorian bar brooch features an individual eight claw set round faceted cut ruby decorated terminal to either end.
The brooch secures with a hinged pin and clasp to the reverse.
The brooch is fitted to an impressive hinged leatherette presentation box, with a satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.
This opal brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 15 karat gold.
This impressive Victorian brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
Condition
This impressive brooch is excellent quality, set with impressive opals displaying a scintillating play of color. The impressive rubies displaying fine color and brilliance. The supporting diamonds display a fine white color and brilliance. The exterior of the box is in presentation condition; the interior of the box shows wear in keeping with age. The brooch is an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.
