"when we arrive in the middle of nowhere", Abstract, Flowers, Acrylic Painting

By Sandra Cohen

Located in Franklin, MA

Sandra Cohen’s “when we arrive in the middle of nowhere” is a 12 x 12 x .25 inch acrylic painting on tempered hardboard, in green, blue, pink, red, orange, and white. Abstracted wild flowers and greenery wave under a blue springtime sky, where a tiny plane is landing. A circular pattern of arrows moving in opposite directions is overlaid in white and intertwines with itself and the fine red lines that grow like stems outward from its unseen center. Inspired by the song “Autopilot” by Queens of the...

The Here and Now

The Here and Now

By Michael Dickter

Located in Bozeman, MT

My interest is in creating a permanent record of the impermanence of our world. In considering the exquisiteness of a moment shared, of a new connection, a new thought, an old memory, I am often stuck by the duality of permanence and impermanence all around us. My work engages the natural world through this lens. Images of birds...

Located in Preston, GB

Black Pool Ball, 8 Ball, Still Life Oil Painting Study on Canvas Panel, 2026, by Contemporary British Artist, Sarah Victoria Scott Art measures 5 x 7 inches Black Pool Ball (8 Ball) is a striking contemporary still life by British artist Sarah Victoria Scott, painted in 2026. With bold simplicity and assured brushwork, Scott transforms the familiar form of a billiard ball into a compelling study of light, reflection and colour. Set against a richly textured field of vibrant blue, the deep black surface of the 8 ball is brought to life through crisp highlights and subtle reflected tones that reveal its polished, spherical form. Loose, expressive brushstrokes contrast with the precision of the object itself, creating a painting that is both playful and sophisticated. The restrained composition invites the viewer to appreciate the quiet beauty found within an everyday subject, demonstrating the artist’s confident command of observation and painterly expression. A wonderful example of contemporary British still life painting...

Innocence and Patience

Innocence and Patience

By Carole Garland

Located in Palm Desert, CA

These two South African schoolgirls were staring at yet another group of well meaning tourists passing through their Zimbabwean grammar school. Carole Garland captures their lingering expressions: Innocence, seemingly open, adventurous and hopeful while the other girl, Patience, is perhaps more skeptical, wondering what these people from the United States are doing in her classroom. To enter their children in school. South African parents must register them with English names so mother and father, who don’t speak English, search through English language newspapers for suitable names, hence, “Innocence” and “Patience.” The tour guide’s name was “Sanction.” Carole Garland graduated from Knox College, Galesburg, Ill., and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of the Americas in Mexico City. Carole Garland has shown in many Southern California venues, most recently at TAG Gallery, Bergamot Station; RealART Gallery, Agoura Hills; the Santa Paula...

La Prima Pietra-Ancient Architectural Arched Doorways Leading to Lush Landscape

By Carol Pylant

Located in Chicago, IL

Meticulously rendered stone archways lead to a stone path meandering into a lush landscape in Carol Pylant's stunning architectural painting entitled "La Prima Pietra". The pristine space suggest inner solitude and peace. This calm continues through the archway and into the rich green landscape beyond the walls. The artist often combines imagery from her travels to Italy, Spain and throughout Europe with memories of elsewhere. The artwork is framed in a heavy black wooden frame with a silver inset adding to the richness of the piece. It measures 36.5 x 42.5 inches framed. Carol S. Pylant La Prima Pietra oil on panel 30h x 36w in 76.20h x 91.44w cm CSP037 Resume Artist / Emeritus Professor, University of Wisconsin-Madison Education 1979 M.F.A.
