New York City Anthem: In 2016 I visited New York and took the opportunity to not only experience how it felt to be there, but to write down every sensation that I was having. I live in a rural part of Dorset so the city’s effect on me was exaggerated - sounds, smells and sights that were all being experienced at once. It was dazzling. When I returned home, I started work on making a piece that I felt would contain everything about New York City that enthralled me. It had to be big and it had to be from the viewpoint of being inside the city itself.
