Georgian Jewellery For Sale on 1stDibs

On 1stDibs, you can find the most appropriate georgian jewellery for your needs in our varied inventory. Each design created in this style — which was crafted with great care and often made from Gold, 18k Gold and Silver — can elevate any look. Find an antique version now, or shop for 813 vintage or 15 modern creation for a more contemporary example of these cherished accessories. You’re likely to find the perfect georgian jewellery among the distinctive items we have available, which includes versions made as long ago as the 18th Century as well as those produced as recently as the 21st Century. As it relates to this specific piece, our collection includes designs that are universally popular, but 1 Carat and 1.5 Carat carat weights, specifically, are sought with frequency. There have been many well-made iterations of the classic georgian jewellery over the years, but those made by Glorious Antique Jewelry Collection, Karen Sugarman Designs and Chelsea-Derby are often thought to be among the most beautiful. A georgian jewellery of any era or style can lend versatility to your look, but a version featuring Diamond, from our inventory of 209, is particularly popular. A rose cut version of this piece has appeal, but there are also oval cut and round cut versions for sale. When shopping for a georgian jewellery, you’ll find that there are less available pieces for unisex or men today than there are for women.

How Much is a Georgian Jewellery?

On average, a georgian jewellery at 1stDibs sells for $4,007, while they’re typically $250 on the low end and $250 for the highest priced versions of this item.

A Close Look at Georgian Jewelry

Georgian jewelry is named for the monarchies of the four King Georges, who in succession ruled England starting in 1714 (plus King William’s reign, which lasted until 1837). A slew of beautiful pieces were produced during the period that today are coveted by collectors.

There are certain features that distinguish jewelry from this era, including the fact that pieces from the 18th and early 19th centuries were handmade (so don’t let the absence of a maker’s mark lead you to believe otherwise). Georgian jewelry also has a certain “look.” It’s a bit gray because stones were often set in silver, and because stonecutting techniques were not as advanced as they are today, the gems do not possess the level of sparkle to which we have become accustomed.

Intricate metalworking techniques such as repoussé (the hammering of metal into ornate designs) and cannetille (a method of working the gold wire to make it look woven) allowed goldsmiths to really flex their muscles. These gold pieces, either on their own or combined with gemstones, made for highly original and dramatic jewelry. The era also saw pieces with ornately woven strands of human hair.
