The exceptional bowl is embellished with impressive panels of pierced and embossed spiralling fruiting vine ornamentation, flanking a central oval embossed decorated scrolling leaf style oval rosette. An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage Chinese sterling silver four piece tea and coffee set with matching tea tray - boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional vintage Chinese sterling silver tea and coffee service consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug and covered sugar bowl, in addition to a matching tea tray. Each piece of this silver tea service has an oval rounded form with a plain spreading foot. The surface of each piece, including the tea tray is embellished with impressive finely engraved bamboo stalk and foliage decoration, all on a matte background. The teapot and coffee pot are fitted with domed hinged covers ornamented with a continuation of bamboo decoration and surmounted with the original circular rounded finials with satin wood resistors. Each piece of this impressive vintage Chinese silver service is fitted with plain angular C shaped silver handles, with plain tapering thumbpieces to the upper plateau. The coffee pot and cream jug are both fitted with a truncated spout and the teapot bears a plain swan necked spout. The Chinese silver sugar bowl is fitted with an impressive push fit cover, replicating the details of that to the teapot and coffee pot. This exceptional four-piece service sits to the original and matching tea tray. The tray has an oval form with oval inset handles to either end. Each handpiece and the rim of the tray is encompassed with an applied bamboo style border. This exceptional tea service benefits from the original hinged leatherette presentation case, with a satin and velvet lined interior, securing with two hinged latches. Such boxed services with matching trays are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. Condition The pieces of this vintage set are a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The service has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The interior of each piece has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The original box has some signs of wear, but can be considered to be in presentation condition. The hallmarks struck to the underside of each piece are all very clear. An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of versatile antique English sterling silver three-light candelabra; an addition to our diverse candle holders collection. These exceptional antique cast sterling silver candelabra have a classical square form to a knopped column onto a stepped swept square foot, in the highly desirable classic English style. Each impressive three light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling leaf decorated arms. The branches (labra) support two circular waisted capitals, each encompassed with bands of applied gadroon decoration. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked push fit square-shaped sconces, embellished with an undulating swept decoration. Each capital of these antique candelabra centrepieces surmounts an impressive square drip pan, featuring identical ornamentation to that of the sconces. Each Victorian candelabrum is fitted with a third detachable central elevated capital and drip pan. These versatile three-light Victorian candelabra can be used as silver candlesticks once the arms are detached. The panelled waisted column of each candlestick is encompassed with further undulating ornamentation and gadroon decoration to the knops. The spiralling swept portion of the foot surmounts a plain stepped base, embellished with gadroon decoration to a plain collet style rim. These antique silver candlesticks do not have weighted bases. The base of each candlestick was made by William Brown in 1825 and the labra were crafted by Walker & Tolhurst Ltd (Walter Walker & Brownfield Tolhurst) in 1896*. These tall sterling silver candelabra, which can be separated into individual candlesticks, are a versatile and sophisticated gift for weddings, anniversaries or milestone occasions. Use them as dramatic centrepieces for candlelit dinners or display the candlesticks individually on a mantel, sideboard or table. * Candlesticks were widely produced and used in the early 19th century, with designs growing more elaborate as moulded candles gained popularity. To accommodate changing tastes, it was not unusual for matching candelabra to be commissioned at a later date, providing versatility and reflecting the Victorian preference for elaborate centrepieces. A magnificent, exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of large antique Georgian English sterling silver architectural column candlesticks; part of our ornamental silverware collection. These magnificent antique Georgian English sterling silver candlesticks have a plain subtly tapering columnar form. The large and impressive Corinthian capital of each candlestick retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconce ornamented with a plain moulded rim. The cylindrical columns are supported by a cuboid plinth to an impressive plain square stepped three tier base. Each plinth is embellished with a fine and impressive bright cut engraved coat of arms depicting the Head family coat of arms encircled with a belt accented with the family motto 'Study Quiet'. The bases retain the original contemporary engraved inscription 'A token of respect from Francis Head to her aunt Dame Mary Ann Head. 1803' to the lowest tier. Both candlesticks are fitted with turned mahogany bases to the underside. These magnificent Georgian candlesticks were crafted by George Eadon, George Kibbles & John Weaver of George Eadon & Co. This magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian English cast sterling silver table centrepiece has been realistically modelled in the form of a horse and huntsman. The model is embellished with details replicating the large horse's anatomical features, coat and mane. The saddled and bridled silver horse ornament is stood behind a gentleman figure bearing huntsman attire comprised of a hunting coat, loose breeches, riding boots with spurs and helmet. The exceptional male character grasps the horse's reigns in one hand and a riding crop in the other. Both figures stand to a solid silver base ornamented with a rockwork texture. This antique cast sterling silver model sits to the original painted oak wood plinth base. An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver gilt and celluloid fifteen piece travelling vanity set - boxed; part of our silverware collection. This exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian sterling silver and celluloid vanity set consists of a hand mirror, a pair of hair brushes, a pair of clothes brushes, a pair of scent bottles, a pair of pin jars, a toothbrush holder, a soap jar, a hip flask and a boudoir clock. Each blown and cut glass container bears a plain silver gilt mount to the rim; due to the variety in sizes these versatile jars could be used for a multitude of functions. The glass vessels are fitted with a domed silver gilt cover, bearing an impressive applied monogram initials 'MK' to the centre; the toothbrush, soap and one of the pin jars have push fit covers and the second pin jar bears a screw fitment. The scent bottles bear hinged covers, which open to reveal the original hallmarked stopper and cork to the interior. The exceptional cut glass hip flask has a plain cylindrical sterling silver gilt mount with a hinged circular plain domed cover, securing with a bayonet fitting*. The plain lower portion of this silver hip flask is fitted with the original hallmarked push fit sterling silver gilt beaker; this bears further applied monogram initials, reflecting those to the covers. The surface of the exceptional waisted rectangular-shaped boudoir clock is plain and embellished to the upper incurved plateau with further applied monogram initials. The upper portion of the clock further bears a plain angular swing carrying handle with ball style terminals. The white enamel dial is ornamented with black hour Roman numerals, encircled with plain black chapter ring of minute markers. The face of this timepiece is visible through a rectangular bevelled glass 'window'. These exceptional antique Georgian straight* sterling silver forks have been crafted in the Hanoverian pattern with three tines. The posterior surface of each antique silver fork handle terminal incorporates the bright cut engraved crest of out of a coronet a griffin's head, all above the monogram initial 'W'. The anterior surface of each 18th century fork is plain with a pip to the handle terminal. Such straight examples of antique silver forks with clearly struck hallmarks are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. * 'Straight' means all the pieces are made by the same maker in the same year. The upper portion of each piece is embellished with a broad band of bright cut engraved interlacing scroll and leaf decoration accented with stylised shell designs. The decoration to the body of each component incorporates two shaped, scroll decorated cartouches: one of which is vacant, the other displaying a bright cut engraved crest of a talbot*. The teapot is fitted with a hinged domed cover encircled with a band of bright cut engraved strapwork style decoration. The cover retains the original and impressive, hallmarked cast sterling silver stemmed floral finial.
