This exceptional antique George V sterling silver and enamel tray has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners. The plain and unembellished raised sides of the antique tray have a plain moulded border to the rim. The well of the tray is embellished with an exceptional, fine and impressive hot enamel panel depicting a bay with a grassed cliff with sailboats to the calm water to the far side and subtle dunes to the hut accommodating beach to the foreground. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique German sterling silver cup and cover; an addition to our antique presentation silverware collection. This exceptional antique German sterling silver cup & cover has a bulbous circular shaped form onto a shaped pedestal foot. The lobed body of the cup is embellished with chased decorated scenes incorporating: a putto raising a glass and playing a musical instrument, a stag, a unicorn and an elephant. The upper portion of the body is encompassed with a paralleling cast and applied stylised rope twist border, accented with a collet set round faceted cut gemstone to each incurve, with a scrolling leaf decorated bracket to the underside. This impressive presentation cup retains the original hallmarked cover, ornamented with a continuation of the leaf bracket to each incurve, in addition to a reflection of chased decorated scenes. The cover is surmounted with an exceptional cast figural finial comprised of a putto figure holding a glass and cluster of grapes, sat to a large plain ball. An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare pair of large antique George V English sterling silver lyre candlesticks; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection. These exceptional antique George V English sterling silver candlesticks have been modelled in the form lyre. The upper portion of the stringed instrument is surmounted with a swept oval capital, encompassed with embossed concave batwing decoration. The capitals retain the original detachable hallmarked push fit sconces, each embellished with thread decorated borders to the rim. The column of each candlestick features details replicating the opposing scrolling frame and five-strings of the musical instrument. Each oval swept base is embellished with fluted batwing decoration, accented with further thread decoration to the rim. These antique candlesticks have weighted bases and retain the original hallmarked silver lined underside. Such large candlesticks, modelled in the form of lyre, are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. Condition These rare sterling silver candlesticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and are in exceptional condition. Each candlestick has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the rim of the bases, in addition to part hallmarks to the underside and sleeve of the sconce are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. This exceptional and large antique Victorian sterling silver pilgrim vase has a compressed oval flask form*. The lower portion of the oval body is encompassed to the lower portion with alternating chased fluted and batwing decoration. The large body is further embellished with impressive cast and applied bearded grotesque masks to either side, conjoined with the original silver carrying chain. The swept neck of the vase is ornamented with a moulded girdle surmounting further chased fluted decoration. The upper rim of the vase/flask is encircled with an applied moulded border. This impressive flask is fitted with a hinged domed cover, surmounted with an impressive cast organic decorated finial. This Victorian silver pilgrim flask / vase is supported by an oval domed foot accented with a further chased fluted decoration. Such large and exceptional regimental examples are rare to the market; this pilgrim vase/flask was acquired from the Berwick regiment and Kings Own Scottish Border Museum. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George VI English sterling silver christening set in the Art Deco style, boxed; an addition to our collection of silver christening gifts. This exceptional antique George VI sterling silver christening set consists of a napkin ring, an egg cup and a spoon. The surfaces of the napkin ring and egg cup are plain and embellished with applied crown motifs incorporating the date ‘1937’ and initials ‘GVI’*. The plain rounded egg cup is ornamented with an elongated indented border to the pedestal and is supported by a stepped octagonal foot, all in the Art Deco style. The napkin ring has a plain quadrilateral shaped form with a convex curved anterior surface, bearing the aforementioned motif. The spoon is embellished with the engraved initials ‘GVI’ amidst collared bands to the stem and features an impressive crown shaped terminal. The reverse surface of the spoon is plain and features a tapering heel to the bowl. The pieces of this antique Art Deco style christening set are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, secured with a push fit catch. The anterior maroon leatherette surface of the box cover is embellished with a central cream panel encompassed with a gold scrolling border and accented with the royal cypher depicting ‘GVIR, 1937’ below the royal coronet. The interior of the cover bears the retailer’s mark ‘By appointment to H.M The King, The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ltd, 112 Regent Street, London, W.1’. This impressive christening set was crafted by the renowned and highly collectable silversmith Robert Edgar Stone; the posterior surface of the napkin ring bears R. E. Stone’s signature in addition to the full hallmarks. Each component of this set will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the egg cup and napkin ring are struck with the date letter ‘b’ and the spoon bears ‘a’. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver spoon celebrating Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee has a plain oval form. The anterior surface of the handle is embellished with a variety of commemorative subtly gilded scenes separated by scrolling ribbon ornamentation accented with the scene depicting wording 'Peace', 'Commerce', 'Electricity', 'Rifle Volunteers', 'Steam' and 'Penny Postage'. The reverse surface is ornamented with the insignia of the Star of India including the motto 'Heavens Light Our Guard' above a further scrolling ribbon design incorporating the wording 'Indian Empire', 'Canada', 'Australasia' and 'Cape Colony' amidst undulating laurel branches. This exceptional antique American silver teapot has a plain panelled octagonal form with swept shoulders. The upper and lower rims of the body of the teapot is encompassed with a bright cut engraved alternating stylised leaf and chevron decorated border. Either side of the teapot is embellished with a shaped oval cartouche, each encompassed with an applied, graduating stylised floral bud border accented with a ribbon bow to the upper portion. One cartouche displays the contemporary bright cut engraved initial ‘K’ and the other remains vacant. The body of the teapot is further ornamented with single paralleling pin struck borders to each panel. The swept, panelled shoulders are embellished with a moulded reed decorated border to the rim. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver sugar sifter spoon and bowl - boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gilt teaware set consists of a sugar bowl and sifter spoon. The bowl has a circular rounded form to a circular spreading foot. The surface of the bowl is embellished with exceptional chased floral ornamentation accented with scroll designs, all on a matte background. The decoration to the bowl incorporates a putto* design to one side and a scrolling leaf bordered cartouche to the other, displaying the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a unicorn before trees. The upper portion of this exceptional bowl is encircled with a broad plain border and the rim of the foot is encompassed with an applied decorated border. The exceptional sugar sifter ladle is embellished with further putto and scrolling leaf ornamentation, reflecting the design to that of the bowl. The shell shaped bowl is embellished with scrolling pierced 'sifter' holes to each scalloped flute. The reverse surface of the terminal incorporates a cartouche displaying the aforementioned crest. This exceptional antique Chinese Export Silver bachelor tea service consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl. Each piece of this silver tea set has a square rounded form; the teapot features a cylindrical neck and the cream jug and sugar bowl bear circular tapering upper rims. The surface of each piece is embellished with an impressive planish finish. One side of each piece bears an impressive applied branch bordered cartouche, ornamented with embossed plum blossom illustrations, incorporating birds in flight; this piece is double-skinned, as to be expected. The teapot is fitted with the original domed hinged cover surmounted with an embossed silver finial modelled in the form of a lobed gourd/bud. This Chinese silver teapot is fitted with a C scroll handle overlaid with an interwoven bamboo wicker, strategically interlaced to produce a segmented braided design. The sugar bowl and cream jug are fitted with silver handles replicating the details of two conjoined bamboo stalks. The surface of each piece is further ornamented with an embossed cloud decorated shaped panel, to the lower portion of each handle.
