Period Gothic Oak Trunk or Chest Façade from Picardie France, circa 1550
Located in Dallas, TX
Often when centuries-old trunks did not survive the passage of time, 19th-century menuisiers (French woodworkers) would salvage the surviving wood and carve new furniture such as desks and similar trunks. The facade was typically the most ornate section of these antique trunks, making intact frontages highly valued antiques. Hand-carved from oak in Picardie, France, circa 1550, this period Gothic architectural is a beautiful example of an antique trunk facade that was not incorporated into a more recent furnishing. Picardie is a former administrative region in northern France that is home to many Gothic cathedrals. The Amiens Cathedral (mid-13th century) is the largest standing cathedral in Europe and is truly a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Our trunk frontage has five vertically oriented inset panels embellished with various forms of Gothic tracery, including high-arching niches...

Antique Hand Carved Gothic Column Stand with Saint Luke, Mark & John Sculptures
Located in Lisse, NL
One of a kind and meaningful, Gothic Revival pedestal / planter / candle holder. Finding unique antiques that are unlike anything we ever saw always makes us feel grateful. When we first saw this large, entirely handcrafted and handcarved column we thought it was a church pedestal for displaying a saint sculpture on top. However, when we noticed the open top with the zinc, removable liner inside, we realized this was in fact a Gothic Revival plant stand with a possibility to also have a sculpture on display in the middle section. Thanks to the zinc liner this beautiful workmanship antique can also be used as a candle stand (as shown in some of our photos), creating a marvelous atmosphere with the burning candles behind the Gothic carvings around the hexagonal top. At the base of this unique stand are three handcarved sculptures of a winged bull (symbolizing Saint Luke...

Starburst Entrance Door for New and extant Residences
Located in South Charleston, WV
Model HNRCED Sunburst Atomic Made to order by History Never Repeats LLC. Custom produced here in the United States. 84" tall x 72" is the common measurement but we can produce in any size, single or double. The video shows a door with hardware and a smooth textured paint that highlights what is possible for your door with a custom paint selected by the client and produced by Benjamin Moore using Aura Exterior. The customer also had us install a peephole as well and we incorporated this into the vertical bar. High quality construction with the best hinges, woods and hardware that can be used. All hand made. The key to the doors is the use of old Appalachian oaks to produce hard and strong door jambs with our material sourced through local yards and the woods all selected.
