Walnut Knife Beam Bench 3' Long Solid Wood + Blackened Steel by Alabama Sawyer
By Alabama Sawyer
Located in Birmingham, AL
NOTE: Our walnut pieces may contain color variations ranging from deep brown to light yellow. This is a normal characteristic of walnut. If you want the equivalent of prime or select graded walnut, tell us ahead of ordering so we can add a customization. If color adjustment is requested on a completed piece after the fact, we will charge additional you for a custom stain. Our knife beam bench in walnut utilizes salvaged walnut wood logs for a rustic bench. Narrow and backless, the simple lines express the natural texture of the end grain of each species. The 12" x 12" beam is milled and finished to sit raised by a mild steel base with a black patina. The beam bench brings rustic beauty at a variety of lengths. Cracks, knots, saw marks and variation is part of the beauty of these pieces. The wood will continue to move and the finish to patina over time. The knife walnut beam bench makes a cozy coffee table in a den or living room or low table in a mud room or entry hall for flexible use as a place to place packages and bags or to remove shoes. With the oiled finish used on the knife walnut beam bench, we do not recommend putting this bench outside...

1950-1960’s Tropitone Kahana Stackable Chaise Lounge Vinyl Straps Aluminum Frame
By Tropitone
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome 1950-1960’s Mid-Century Modern Tropitone Kahana stackable chaise lounge w/vinyl straps & powder coated aluminum frame. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, all frames have been cleaned with soap & water but have some scratches & signs of wear & the straps have some yellowing from sun exposure, lotions, & use. Also, when the chairs are stacked the vinyl straps stretch but when un-stacked the straps return to their original form. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1950-1960’s. NOTE: We have 6 of these Tropitone Kahana stackable chaise lounges available. We also have other listings composed of Tropitone Kahana stackable chaise lounges that are a bit newer & a slightly different color here for sale, check them out!! NOTE II: If you want a photo of the exact chair you would be getting, please request at purchase so you can examine and approve prior to shipping. Otherwise, we will ship the chair we have that is in the best condition at the time of your order. Is there anything quite as relaxing as a day lounging by the pool? We certainly don’t think so. And it’s EVEN BETTER if you’re lucky enough to be laying in a fabulous vintage Tropitone Kahana chaise lounge… GOOD NEWS!!!… We are here to help!! This is a FANTASTIC vintage Kahana chaise lounge chair by Tropitone composed of a commercial quality smooth powder coated aluminum frame, vinyl straps with a double wrapping technique exclusive to Tropitone enhancing durability and comfort, a height adjustable backrest with five different lean choices, and it bears a premier construction design boasting sleek geometric lines, elegance, functionality, ergonomic comfort, and a weather resilient finish ready to take on all of the elements! The color is somewhere between the current “Textured Sonora” and “Textured Shell” and it is conveniently STACKABLE!!! Whether on your patio, surrounding a firepit, aside the tiki bar, or lined along the poolside… this marvelous mid-century modern chaise is the one you need. Much like its island beach namesake, this Kahana vinyl strap chaise lounge chair is ready to complete your outdoor paradise. Tropitone was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1954 by Burt M. Baker, a retired Lockhead Engineer and executive at Grand Rapids Chair Company. Tropitone served the contract market, including hotels, motels, clubs, and resorts with high performing outdoor patio furniture. In the 1960’s they introduced powder coated aluminum finishes to the industry. Utilizing a multi-step wash process that ensures a lasting finish, Tropitone’s aluminum frames prevail under any environmental conditions. Tropitone also pioneered the technique of double-wrapping vinyl straps around the powder coated aluminum frame for extra durability, which continues today. In 1970’s they established operations in Irvine, California which provided a bi-coastal manufacturing to North American customers. In the 80’s they released “Comfort is Key” cushions and sling seating. Tropitone sling seating has the perfect combination of clean lines, designer fabrics and carefree maintenance. In the 90’s EZ Span and Basta Sole Umbrellas were introduced and in the 2000’s woven furniture and Relax Plus cushion seating was created including replications of rattan or wicker outdoor...
