A Fine French 19th Century 'Belle Époque' Gilt-Bronze and Rouge Griotte Marble Table Clock by François Linke (1855-1946) Index Number 86. The clockcase modelled as a tambourine amidst blossoming roses, a mask and fan, on an oval bead-edged marble plinth with recessed panels mounted with fruiting vines, on turned feet, the reverse of the white enamel clock dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes signed 'F. Linke, Paris', timepiece movement. Circa: Paris, 1895.
François Linke (d. 1946) was awarded the gold medal for his Grand Bureau at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle. He was the most celebrated Ébéniste of his time. Born in Bohemia in 1855, he moved to Paris in 1881. He produced furniture of the highest quality at his workshops at 170, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine, and established showrooms at 26, Place Vendme. A much simpler version of this commode, with fewer ormolu mounts and with no marquetry, is illustrated in Christopher Payne's "François Linke 1855-1946 The Belle Epoque of French Furniture" Antique Collectors' Club, 2003 Edition, Index 720, Page 498.

An impressive and magnificent "mignonette" desk clock, created in Paris France by the house of Cartier, during the Edwardian Belle Epoque period, back in the 1905. This stunning piece is very rare and has been designed with neoclassic French patterns and carefully crafted with parts made up in yellow gold of 18 karats, silver and platinum. It is mounted with four spherical parts, carved from green chrysoprase. The five sides are embellished with applications of vivid purple enamel over a sunburst and linear guilloche ground and the borders are accented with a linear frame of white champleve enamel. Fitted in the reverse with a sistem to open and close the three winding parts to manipulate.
Movement: Mechanical 8 days, key winding and It is accompanied with the associated original key.
Dial: White ceramic with gold batons for the seconds, with Arabic black numerals and gold hands, inscribed, Cartier Paris-London.
Diamonds: The platinum part on top is mount, with 60 calibrated Old European rose cuts diamonds, 0.30 carats, F color, VS-1 clarity
Chrysoprase: Mounted with screws on the base, with 4 four spherical cabochon cuts carved from natural translucent green chrysoprase with a weight of 8 carats.
Weight: 272.8 Grams, (174.87 Dwt).
Measurements: 47 mm by 40 mm by 70 mm (1.85 x 1.57 x 2.75 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the mark for the silver and gold assay and warranty, the maker's mark for Eugène Bako inside a lozange cartouche, the case numbers, the Cartier serial numbers and signed at the bottom, "CARTIER 2027 LONDON PARIS 11290 S".

Designed in the Louis XV Rococo style, this very fine clock and barometer set dates to c.1870 and was made by Parisian makers Paul Gravelin & Louis Marti et Cie in the time of the French Belle Époque. The matching cases are cast with scrolling foliate decoration, with intricate, elegant swirling flowers and ribbons, in rocaille form.
The dial of the clock is painted with both Arabic and Roman numerals and signed to the centre 'Paul Gravelin,' above the dial, and below: 'Paris, 8 Rue Charlot,' while the square-plate eight-day movement is by Marti, an stamped 'Louis Marti et Cie, Bronze Medaille.'
The gilding is of exceptional quality, and demonstrates the prowess of late nineteenth century Parisian craftsmen, who looked to earlier French regal periods for stylistic inspiration yet updated styles, particularly the Rococo, with their own individual flair, as is evident from these fine antique timepieces.

This beautiful piece is an exceptionally unusual and equally beautiful mantel clock, crafted from a variety of materials, used to showcase an array of superb decorative arts and techniques. Made in France in the late nineteenth century it is formed of green onyx, porcelain (the vase on top), cloisonné enamel and ormolu.
The dials are set upon three columns of ormolu, mounted on green onyx, and framed with enamel in red, white, and blue, floral motifs. The dials are adorned with lettering in both French and Spanish, and measure time, temperature, and pressure. An exceptional and extremely high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period marble and ormolu three piece garniture set signed Raingo Frères, Paris. The clock and original matching pair of candelabras are raised by impressive marble bases with the clock raised on reeded block feet at the front and elegant fluted topie shaped feet at each side. At the center is a striking fitted ormolu plaque with lovely scrolled acanthus leaves and Rinceau shaped scrolls flanked by lovely fluted designs with fitted ormolu foliate chandelles. Impressive intricately detailed cornucopias lead up each side with beautiful ripe fruit and blooming flowers tied with a wonderfully executed flowing ribbon. The enameled clock face displays elegant pierced ormolu hands and Roman numeral hour markers and Arabic numeral minute markers centering the signature and framed within the ormolu bezel with a fine laurel band and the original hand blown glass. The graceful arch shaped top displays a superb ormolu reserve of the eternal flame, a quiver, and a bow tied to a berried laurel wreath with a ribbon symbolizing peace, prosperity, and protection. At the center of each candelabra is a remarkable spiral fluted support centered by four elegant curved supports with fine foliate accents and charming swaging chains. Above is the impressive richly chased acorn finial above the two curved fluted arms also adorned with remarkable chains and large acanthus leaves leading to lovely foliate candle cups. All original gilt throughout.
