Antique Enameled Gilt Bronze Carriage Clock

About the Item

The contrast between rich blue enamel, in light and dark hues, and bright gilt bronze gives this carriage clock a sumptuous, luxurious feel. With a timeless design, the clock could be used within a traditional or modern design scheme. Equally it would make an exquisite and unique gift for a person of refined taste or those with an interest in horology. The clock takes the form of a classic carriage clock: rectangular in form and surmounted by a scrolling handle, on a shaped plinth base on four feet. There is an ormolu pilaster at each corner of the clock, cast to display a trailing vine design. The clock case is enamelled all over its surface to show beautiful, intricate scrolling floral and foliate patterns, interspersed with depictions of birds, wild animals and mythical beasts.
