Michael Lau 2002 Very Rare S.F.M.L. #30 M.I.C.H.A.E.L. Designer Toy
Located in Weesp, NL
Very rare designer toy M.I.C.H.A.E.L. #30 S.F.C.C. by Michael Lau 2002 As with all of the previous generations of Crazy Children the final S.F.C.C. character (SFCC #30) is assembled from the mystery pieces. This figure is named M.I.C.H.A.E.L. and is among the largest figures, 14 inch, that Michael has ever produced. The body and frame is based on the S.F.L.M.F. figures. Measurements: H.33 x W.27 x D.27 cm. Urban vinyl, vinyl art also called designer toys are created by an artist or designer working with a production company, or solely, to produce a limited run of a collectible 3D figure in one or more colour variants. It all started when in the 1990s Hong Kong based artist Michael Lau showed up at a Hong Kong toy show with customized GI Joe figures, that had been reworked into urban hip hop characters, wearing cool streetwear labels and accessories. This ignited a trend that first spread from Hong Kong and Japan, and was initially known as Urban Vinyl, but now the more accepted term is Designer Toys, which is more encompassing. In Michael Lau footsteps followed many artists like Kaws, Frank Kozik, Gary Baseman, Bill Mcmullen...

Modern Japanese Studio Pottery Oribe Vase by Ken Matsuzaki
Located in Atlanta, GA
A contemporary studio ceramic vase made by Japanese potter Ken Matsuzaki (1950-). The vase showcases a geometrical spindle form, rather distinguishingly modern. It is covered with a thick dripping Oribe green glaze partially revealing the unglazed part of the body, which is decorated with scrolling pattern in left by ash glaze. The work is rooted in both Yohen Shino glaze technique and Oribe tradition, but it is an innovative reinterpretation of the ancient aesthetic. The base is marked with the artist's signature. The vase comes with an inscribed tomobako storage box with the artist's bio and wrapping cloth with seal. The vase measures 9"h x 5.5"w x 4"d. Ken Matsuzaki’s haptic ceramics bring a contemporary approach to traditional Japanese ceramicware, most notably 16th-century Oribe pottery...

Smokin' Joe Stalin Sculpture by Frank Kozik
Located in Weesp, NL
Limited 50 pieces Bronze edition created by Frank Kozik and sculptured by Brin Berliner in 2007. This massive 16"-er tall rotocast vinyl bust has been sold out in a flash and is not for sale anywhere else. Bust has never been exposed and always kept in its original box. Measurements: H.36 x W.24 x D.20 cm. Frank Kozik was born in Madrid, Spain. At the age of 14 he moved to the United States and settled in Austin, Texas. Credited with single handedly reviving the “lost” art of the concert poster, Frank’s creative career grew largely out of his enthusiasm for Austin’s growing underground rock scene in the mid-eighties. Starting with black and white flyers for friends’ bands posted on telephone poles, his reputation grew as an artist whose work was arresting as well as gripping. Kozik has done over 60 gallery shows worldwide, with multiple exhibits in Tokyo and London. Kozik has done graphic design for dozens of major companies such as NIKE, BASF and Gatorade. He also directed music videos for Soundgarden and Mint Condition. Kozik is currently based in San Francisco, California, where he produces artwork and graphics, and formerly managed his own record label, Man’s Ruin as well as Rise Records. His work is well known to devotees of album-cover art and concert flyer art. He has produced artwork for musicians such as Pearl Jam,Nirvana, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Neil Young, Sonic Youth, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, Ice T, George Clinton, Green Day, Beck, The Offspring, The Melvins and many more. Kozik has also designed a pair of Artist Edition Oakley sunglasses. Three volumes of his collected poster and album cover designs have been published and are widely available. A new Book, Plasticland, published by Dark Horse Publications was released in January 2008 and is a photo essay of his last 4 years work as a toy designer. Kozik also edited and published Panda Meat, a volume of contemporary gig poster...

Impossible to find MINT designer toy bj.Hammer. Of this colored version were only 250 pcs made in 2003. bj.Hammer has never been exposed and always kept in a dark and dry smoke free storage. He will be shipped insured with track & trace from Amsterdam. Designer Toys, also called art toys, are toys and collectibles created by artists and designers that are either self-produced or made by small, independent toy companies, typically in very limited editions. Artists use a variety of materials, such as ABS plastic, vinyl, wood, metal, latex, plush, and resin. Creators often have backgrounds in graphic design, illustration, or fine art, but many accomplished toy artists are self-taught. The first Designer Toys appeared in the 1990s in Hong Kong and Japan. By the early 2000s, the majority of Designer Toys were based upon characters created by popular Lowbrow artists, forever linking the two movements. The Design Team: Brothersfree from Hong Kong is a trio of uber hot vinyl toy designers in the Brothers Worker team - all from Hong Kong. William Tsang, Kenny Wong and Winson Ma Some of their figures, sets and limited editions: These designers give lots of attention to detail and their sets include rarely made accessories for 12" figures. Large Contemporary Japanese Woven Bamboo Sculpture Mimura Chikuho
By Mimura Chikuho
Located in Atlanta, GA
A contemporary hand-woven bamboo sculpture in an organic form by Japanese bamboo artist Mimura Chikuho (1973-). Named "Cloud on the Peak", the piece was made as one of his series in 2004. Entirely hand-woven in irregular plaiting, the artist challenged the traditional bamboo basket making and elevated it into modern abstract sculpture. The minimalist donut form resembles the hat-shaped cloud formed around the peak of the mountain (often seen on Fujisan in Japanese art). It displays a wonderful subtle undulation and irregularity in its organic shape, achieved by a mastery of the traditional technique. The irregular plaiting appears chaotic in its busy crossing patterns yet as a whole, the piece strangely quiet and introverted, demanding contemplation from the viewer. Signed "Chikuho" underneath in Kanji. The piece comes with its original storage paper box and a silk bag. Provenance: Purchased from Tai Gallery/Textile Arts now (Tai Modern) in Santa Fe. Mimura Chikuho was born in 1973 in Tokyo. He studied under Yufu Shohaku...
