A massive 450 pound Lucite sculpture by the noted artist Bijan Bahar. This piece is enormous and quite impressive. It looks great with the led light changing colors which will accompany the piece.
It features an etched signature. This piece was hand-craved out by the artist and when viewed at the proper angle the hollowed out circle looks like multiple circles. Quite a stunning effect. it sits on a ring of Lucite and has an acrylic base plate. The sculpture is 22.75 inches tall but with the ring, which allows it to be rotated quite easily and base is 25.5 inches tall. This sculpture has a bit of cloudiness to it and some minor scuffs and marks. A truly monumental work by a talented artist.

Multi-disciplinary artist Mario Dal Fabbro was born in Cappella Maggiore, Italy in 1913. He trained in his family's furniture design shop prior to attending both the R. Superior Institute for Decorative and Industrial Arts in Venice as well as Magistero Artistico, graduating with high honors in 1937.
From the years of 1938-1948 Dal Fabbro immersed himself in furniture design and academia. Primarily, he designed furniture for both design houses and private clients. Del Fabbro participated in the Triennale de Milano competition in both 1939 and 1947 and won the Ganzatti Contest for 'Standardization of Furniture". During this period he also contributed to the Italian design publications Domus and Stile and the French magazine L'Architecture D'Aujourd'hui.
In 1948 Mario Dal Fabbro immigrated to America and began designing furniture for mass production, working for J.G. Furniture in New York and Quakertown, PA. During his years steady employ, he published Modern Furniture: Its Design And Construction in 1949 and contributed regularly to The New York Times and House and Garden. His subsequent publications spanned a little over the decade and included How to Build Modern Furniture (1951), How to Make Built-In Furniture (1955), and How to Make Children's Furniture and Play...

This sculpture is part of the series of animal sculptures that Abraham Palatnik made from the 1960s, in small format, they are small jewels of kinetic art, a movement of which he was one of the pioneers.
"Born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, in 1928 to a family of Russian Jews, Palatnik moved with his family to Tel Aviv (then Palestine) when he was four years old. He attended Montefiori Technical School, where he specialized in internal combustion engines, and studied art under the tutelage of the painter Haaron Avni and the sculptor Sternshus at the Municipal Institute of Art. When he returned to Brazil in 1948, his output consisted mainly of figurative and landscape paintings and charcoal drawings. A beautiful colorful sculpture by the noted artist Bijan Bahar. Bijan created this incredible sculpture by first creating a lucite box and then filling it with epoxy resin. before the resin hardened he filled it with found objects of color. after it dried he cut the sculpture artfully into two pieces. it was created in the mid 1990's and is signed and numbered 1/1. It is in good age appropriate condition with some crazing to the seams where the glue has crazed. There are some surface scratches and minor nicks as well. Not the bottom is sanded to a Frost finish by the artist.

Sauropods (Sauropoda) are an infraorder of sauropodomorph dinosaurs that lived from the Late Triassic to the Late Cretaceous (approximately 210 and 66 million years ago, they lived in the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania and Antarctica. They were herbivorous and they were quadrupedal.
