Antique Boch Belgium Delft Vase converted in its early days into a Clock .
An unique striking and decorative antique Delft vase clock in the traditional blue and white palette, richly painted in the early Chinese Kangxi style. The decoration features elegant Chinese figures, birds, floral motifs, and numerous auspicious symbols, reflecting the strong influence of Chinese export porcelain on Dutch Delftware.
The figural scene is particularly evocative of the celebrated Chinese drama Romance of the Western Chamber (Xixiangji), written by Wang Shifu during the Yuan Dynasty. The lively composition, combined with the intricate ornamental details, creates a captivating display piece that exemplifies the artistic exchange between East and West.
The vase is of attractive octagonal form and is surmounted by a matching cover crowned with a finely modelled Foo dog finial.
