Place of Origin: American
Rude Osolnik Signed Mid-Century Modern Spalted Wood Turned Vessel Bud Weed Vase
By Rude Osolnik
Located in Studio City, CA
A beautifully executed, handmade, wood-turned weed vase by master woodturner Rude Osolnik who is widely regarded, along with Bob Stocksdale, as one of the finest woodturners in American woodturning history. In 1992, he was presented by then-Kentucky Governor Brereton Jones, with the Milner Award, the Governor's Award for Lifetime Achievement. The vase is made from spalted wood (hard to make out the exact wood on the base) and features highlighted wood grain and shades of dark and light areas. It is signed "Osolnik Originals" and "Spalted ...." by the Osolnik on the base. A gorgeous and engaging gem of a piece that clearly makes an impact. Would be a great addition to any Midcentury Modern or wood-turned collection or make for an eye-catching stand-alone work in about any setting, midcentury or otherwise. Osolnik's work can be found in such permanent collections as: The Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian The Boston Museum of Fine Arts Atlanta's High Museum The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago The Yale Museum The Speed Museum The Kentucky History Museum The Mayo Clinic...

Tiffany Studios New York "Jack in the Pulpit" Favrile Glass Vase
By Tiffany Studios
Located in New York, NY
Known as a "Jack in the Pulpit" vase, this Favrile glass creation by Tiffany Studios New York begins with a bulbous base in deep hues of striated, swirling iridescent yellow and gold. Shooting upward from the base is an elongated, narrow neck of similar coloration, darkening in coloration as it ascends. From the narrow neck explodes an outward facing glass bloom in brilliant shades of ochre, umber and marigold, made to shimmer by the undulations in the bloom's outer edges, all tinged with iridescence. Item #: T-20052 Artist: Tiffany Studios New York Country: United States Circa: 1900 Dimensions: 17.5'' height, 8.5'' width, 5'' depth Materials: Favrile glass Signed: “L.C.T.
