Here is a hard-to-find modernist silver-plate cocktail shaker designer by Emil Schuelke in the mid-1930s and made by Napier Company of Meriden, Connecticut. The cone-shaped shaker consists of two pieces--the top can be used for measuring ingredients. This example is in good condition--there are no deep scratches or dents. There some silver losses on the body and top of the shaker and the inside strainer has loss as well. You can tell the shaker has been used--there is wear to the interior. We've included several photos which represent the condition well. But all in all, this shaker presents nicely and would make a great addition to any bar or cocktail shaker collection. From Wikipedia: "Napier silver designs from the first half of the 20th century are in museum collections including the Brooklyn Museum, Newark Museum and a substantial collection at the Dallas Museum of Art. Just back from our silversmith's workshop where it has been professionally cleaned and polished, restoring it to it's former glory. Dating to c.1920, it remains in superb condition measuring 14" x 9 1/2" x 1/2". In 1880 William Gibson and John Lawrence Langman acquired premises at 112, Regent Street, London and founded The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company. The firm produced a wide range of items from solid silver tableware and cutlery, jewellery and watches to electroplaters, trophies and surgical instruments. In 1898 the expanded and well-known firm became a limited company and added "Ltd" to its name. The abundant advertising activity of The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd left numerous illustrations of their products.
