This is a very rare, ironstone Two Handled, Ice Pail or Wine Cooler Pot, made by Mason's Patent Ironstone China Company, of Lane Delph, Staffordshire, England, circa 1818. This piece is substantial and heavily potted, weighing about 2.2 Kg un-packed. The pot is circular with 12 vertical sections, sitting on a low foot with an everted rim. The two side handles are strongly potted and this piece is quite suitable for use or display, as an ice bucket, wine bottle cooler or perhaps as a vase or centre piece. The piece is decorated in the Mason's recorded pattern called "Basket of Flowers" which is a vibrant floral pattern, hand polychrome enamelled over a sepia print on a white glaze. This is a very rare shaped early small Jug or pitcher, hand painted in the Fence Japan gilded pattern, made by Mason's Ironstone, Lane Delph, England and dating to circa 1813-1820. This jug is hand potted in a very rare shape with a loop handle and a pouring spout to the rim. The pattern is hand painted in the Fence Japan pattern, with hand gilded highlights as illustrated on page 89 of a guide to Mason's patent ironstone patterns, circa 1813-1848, published by The Mason's Collectors' Club. This jug is unmarked to the base, as was often the case in this period but it is definitely made by Mason's Ironstone with a similar jug illustrated on page 188 of Geoffrey Godden's guide to Masons China...

This is a highly decorative, ironstone, twin handled circular footed Bowl by John Ridgway, dating to the English William 1Vth period, circa 1835 . The bowl has been carefully hand-painted in bold colorful enamels with a chinoiserie pattern of three oriental people travelling on a boat, pattern number 5057. It is also richly hand gilded. John Ridgway operated at his father’s celebrated Cauldon Place works, Shelton, Hanley, England, between 1830-1856, producing some fine porcelain and stone China of excellent quality.
