These lamps were created as promotional items to demonstrate Trassinelli's innovative technique, which involves a low-voltage current flowing between two steel plates through randomly positioned electromagnetic components.
The components are completely safe to touch, and each methacrylate bulb holder can be positioned anywhere on the steel plate.
In 2005, these lamps were restored by Duccio Trassinelli himself and were acquired directly from him.
Each lamp comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a copy of the related patent for the mechanism, also issued by the artist.
These lamps, along with related works, are part of the permanent collections at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York...
