A rather good example of the group of suzanis from Djizak, Uzbekistan. Finely embroidered in silk on a cotton background.   

It has fine silk embroidery on a cotton background.    

It is unusual with its bold design and smaller size. This group of Samarkand suzanis tend to be either very large or very small, this is in between.

It is rather good condition apart from a few minor stains.

This is a brand new Suzani from Uzbekistan done in the style of an Turkish Ottoman embroidery. Silk chain stitch on a cotton and silk background fabric. Lined with plain cotton.
