The great portfolio of Charles & Ray Eames is widely celebrated and serves as a model of inspiration for designers to this day. One of their most recognizable designs is the Aluminum Group line for Herman Miller from which these Soft Pad Executive Chairs were born. It is said that the Soft Pad variation was a design accident - cushions from the Eames Chaise found themselves draped over an Aluminum Group chair, and the rest is history. Whatever the story may be, the comfort of Charles & Ray’s Soft Pad seating perhaps rivals that of their famed Eames Lounge Chair.
The Soft Pad collection consists of a Lounge Chair, a Low Back Management Chair, and this High Back Executive Chair. The design language is similar to the Eames Aluminum Group suite which sports a single “sling” of material which is tethered to two cast aluminum side rails and in this case, four plush cushions for optimal comfort. These chairs are equipped with a tilt mechanism with tension control as well as manual height adjustment.

All this is achieved by exploiting the potential of die-casting which is a precise technology allowing complex three-dimensional shapes to be obtained from metal (in this case aluminium). The result is therefore a chair in which the spaces prevail over the solid parts to characterise its aesthetic quality. Chair_One has now become a classic of the future.

Chair_One: legs in polished, anodised or painted aluminium; concrete base painted transparent natural or black; base and seat in die-cast aluminium treated with sputtered fluorinated titanium and painted in polyester powder. The Rey Junior set includes 4 chairs + 1 table in Arik Levy Soft Acid 3 Green color.
Designed by Bruno Rey, the Rey chair is famed internationally for its elegance and style. Like the original, the Junior edition is constructed with Dietiker’s patented screwless wood-to-metal connection.
The solid execution and rounded edges are perfectly suited for children.
The chair and table are made with care from solid beech wood, with die cast aluminum consoles and plastic glides. The chair and table legs are of solid wood. The tabletop is in HPL. The chairs stack up to 4.
