This exceptionally rare two seater sofa was designed by Brockmann Petersen and produced by the cabinet maker Louis G. Thiersen & Søn in 1951. This design was presented at the 1951 Cabinetmakers' Exhibition in Copenhagen. The sofa on offer here is most likely the actual exhibition piece presented at the time, as the design wasn't put into larger scale production. He collaborated with Gunnar Asplund and Uno Ahren. Malmsten has a lasting influence on Swedish design through the two schools which he founded, the Carl Malmsten furniture studies.
