The piece of furniture consists of four pieces of two different types [two armchair modules and two sofa modules]. The Safari sofa was put into production for the first time by Poltronova in 1968. Comprised of four loose zippered seat cushions, six tapered walnut legs, and turquoise hopsacking fabric with back button detail. This piece has been attributed based upon archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The sofa deck has new fabric plus a new dust cover. It also has its original arm covers. We repaired a button with fabric found on bottom. It has been professionally shampooed. Legs were refinished. The foam in the cushions is soft, however it could use some more padding and new zippers. About This Piece This customizable sectional sofa features a modern solid walnut frame with two solid walnut panels on the return ends, tight seat and back cushions and blind tuft detail along the outside back. Walnut can be replaced with oak, mahogany or wenge. Our upholstered frames are built with real hardwoods and glue-and-dowel joinery, never plywood or pine. The frames are made to outlast the fabric and foam for future reupholstery. Upholstery is done with eight-way hand-tied springs and cushions are made of high density medium firmness foam wrapped in down/feather casements.
