A mixed media painting of impressive scale on canvas created by Jason Stallings. Originally created for and curated and featured in a juried exhibition at a show in New Jersey in 2008. The stretcher frame was custom built and reinforced by the artist as well. Painting is created in mixed media on canvas, including acrylic, casein, and pastel.
The artist created this painting to address those affected by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. The themes of erosion and rebuilding are ever present in this artwork. Ultimately this is a celebration of the humanity and culture of the city.
