This stunning, fine and impressive antique ruby brooch has been silver set.
The plain pointed bar brooch is ornamented to the centre with a pierced decorated, fly shaped setting.
The thorax of the fly is embellished with an impressive collet set 0.26ct cushion cut ruby, surmounting and impressive feature collet set 0.63ct Old European cut diamond representing the abdomen.
The eyes are depicted with two collet set Dutch cut diamonds and the wings bear twelve pavé set diamonds, totalling 0.39ct.
The bar is ornamented with a single 5.2mm pearl to one terminal.
This insect brooch secures with a hinged pin and clasp to the reverse.
This stunning antique Edwardian brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as silver set; as to be expected with such an example of this period.
The brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report card.
