A very rare antique Georgian to Victorian Snake Pendant Locket with a small hinged Locket opening in which to place a treasured memento, a mourning item, or possibly poison! The extraordinary Snake Pendant is 14 Karat Gold. The head and eyes of the snake are set with a pear shaped and two round faceted red Garnets. The locket portion is covered with a crystal or rock crystal cover on the front. The reverse of the locket portion opens with a lovely detailed hinge with a glass cover. The pendant is 34mm long including the bales. Without the bales the snake is 28mm long and 12mm wide. The interior of the locket portion is 4mm in diameter and is 4.5mm deep. The snake is 14 Karat Gold. The pendant weighs 1.6 grams. The listing is only for the snake pendant. The chain is only shown for display. The bales may be a later addition. A stunning antique 10.97 carat aquamarine and 1.57 carat topaz, 1.42 carat diamond and platinum necklace; part of our diverse antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections. This stunning, fine and impressive antique pendant has been crafted in platinum. The drop style pendant has a scalloped edged, pierced decorated quatrefoil design, ornamented to the center with a claw set round mixed cut aquamarine. The millegrain decorated setting is embellished with four bezel set Old European round cut and eighty-eight pavé set Dutch cut diamonds. The feature setting suspends from a four claw set 1.57Ct cushion cut blue topaz via two articulated linear drops. The articulated linear drops are each set with three bezel set Old European round cut diamonds. The pendant suspends from a 17" fine belcher chain via two ring loops to the upper border of the topaz setting, securing with a conventional spring loaded bolt ring fastening to the reverse. This 1920s aquamarine and diamond pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum. This is a rare museum quality early Rose Cut Diamond Pendant dating to the Georgian Era set with an abundance of antique Rose Cut Diamonds set in silver atop 14 Karat gold as was the custom of the period. The pendant of great beauty and dating to the 1700s. Diamonds were all the rage in the Georgian period and this is a wonderful example. Early pieces such as this are extremely difficult to find. This one is so immensely wearable as the size is just perfect for wearing either day or night. It has stunning period character and style. The pendant is 68 mm (2 3/4 inches) long from the top of the bale to the bottom of the pendant. Without the bale it is 58 mm long. It is 45 mm (1 3/4 inches) wide at the widest point. The rose cut diamonds are set in silver collets atop 14 Karat gold. The gold bale is a later addition. There has been some restoration of the pendant as is visible from the back - this is very typical of the early Georgian jewels...
