This matched earring and ring suite have been crafted from 18 karat white gold and are set with rubies and diamonds. The ring centres on an oval cut African red ruby which weighs 1.70 carat that is surrounded by ten brilliant cut diamonds. There are a further three diamonds to each shoulder of the ring, each being princess cut. Each of the diamonds in the ring are of H/I colour and VS clarity totalling 1.60 carat. The matched earrings are for pierced ears and terminate with a stud fitting and keyhole safety clip. The central oval cut African ruby in each earring weighs 1.50 carat and is surrounded by ten brilliant cut diamonds. Under each ruby and diamond cluster sits three princess cut diamonds in the same style as the complementing ring. In the earrings each of the diamonds are H/I colour and VS clarity, and together weigh 2.20 carat. Whilst the suite is not of any great age, the pieces are beautifully made and feature very high quality stones which front up beautifully. We love versatile jewellery and this suite is extremely wearable in that it can adorn the body in three ways. The suite comprises a four strand necklace of individually knotted akoya pearls with a matched four strand bracelet, and a detachable citrine and diamond enhancer which can be worn on the necklace, the bracelet, and also as a singular pendant. The citrine and diamond enhancer has been set in 14 karat yellow gold and slides onto the clasp of the necklace and the bracelet, held in place with a figure of 8 safety catch. The necklace and bracelet both feature the same style 14 karat gold tongue and box clasp which are both working well and are secure. The citrine and diamond pendant can also be worn as a pendant on a fine chain via the small gold bale attached to the gold mounting. The necklace has been designed so that the detachable enhancer sits to the side, but can also be worn without the enhancer and the plain gold clasp worn to the back of the neck out of sight. A wonderfully large sterling silver Victorian locket with an elaborate 'Amity, Eternity, Infinity' monogram to the centre front. The oval highly polished locket hangs from a tapering but large bale which allows either a large chain or bolt ring clasp to slide through with ease. To the front of the piece is an elaborate 'AEI' monogram which has been applied over the top of the locket, however is original to the piece. This monogram is often seen in Victorian jewellery and stands for 'Amity, Eternity & Infinity'. The firmly closing locket features two windows inside with glass to place a photograph or lock of hair behind. The piece dates to circa 1890 and due to the lack of hallmarks is unlikely to be English, but perhaps American in origin. A gorgeous example of Victorian era silver jewellery which is still so wearable today. This Art Nouveau gold lorgnette likely originates from the United States during the first 20 years of the 20th Century. Crafted from 14 karat yellow gold the lorgnette is extremely simple in its design and is virtually void of ornamentation with the exception of some fine scrollwork around the lens casing. The lenses that are currently fitted are likely original, and whilst in-tact do have some abrasions to the surface of the glass. The piece is marked internally for 14 karat gold and also has a makers mark in the form of a Maltese cross inside a circle, which is currently unidentified.
